This of course was a joke. I hated the MK naming scheme an I'm happy to see it go. That being said, it's fun to be a troll once in a while.
I still think a high performance EV should try the Continental name, seeing as how a sedan probably won't be using it for long.
No and no
Bronco is body on frame (T6) and Maverick is C2.
Someone working on it told me the next generation Edge is CD6 but I think that was before the FWD and RWD platforms were starting to be referred to internally as separate platforms. At one time they were both considered CD6.
I'm curious to see how this will turn out. Are they going to position it as a relatively attainable product, or will they position it as an uber-luxury mini-flagship (kind of like the Range Rover Evoque)?
I think you'll see down the road that VW will demand that Ford cut back on it's overseas expansion into heavy trucks in Europe and Asia with the Cargos and F-MAX's. VW's Scania and Man truck divisions don't like Ford expanding into their precious territory! And why in the heck would Ford want to let VW sell a rebadged Transit? It seems everybody wants to build trucks these days. Jeep is coming out with a pickup and I thought International and even Mercedes was contemplating a pickup. GM/Navistar is going full tilt into mediums. Hino is going into class 8. It's time for Ford to enter Class 8! Ford: Get off your keisters!
Interesting story about a RAV I dealt with. 2006 mustang gt. Was bought back because of multiple trips of stalling because fuel was getting into evap system. Was deemed the customer was overfilling the tank. It was bought back and resold. It had never been to our dealer. Customer bought it and moved to our town. About 6 months after they bought it, they brought it in for check engine light and stalling. Guess what, raw fuel in evap canister. So two customers same problem. I replaced the tank and charcoal canister and problem fixed. Never happened again. I feel all RAV can be fixed. The issue is duplicating the problem and having a competent tech to fix it.
They kept the platform S197 and S550 only for the Mustang and obtained profit. Maybe CD6 's for the Bronco or Maverick. I've already read a statement that Lincoln plans to have sedans, unlike Ford. I believe in a Lincoln Zephyr Sedan CD6 and a Lincoln Continental CD6 for the Chinese market. It is worth remembering that the decision to kill sedans is not worth to Chinese market
