What Style Cues Does The 2021 Ford Bronco Need To Have?

I’ve always liked the switches in the mustang (the ones by the start button). I think at one point the raptor had some switches too. I hope the bronco incorporates them into the interior.2018-Ford-Mustang-GT-center-stack-2.jpg

Yeah, I like those toggle switches too.  Raptor has them on the overhead console for auxiliary switches (you can connect them to aftermarket lights, radar detectors, etc).

My sources say continuing talk about Bronco delays is utter BS, no delays in project since begun in 2016, this has all been about other people’s assumptions and expectations. Handover of Bronco to Nth America is coming due and will note the final stages of the project - people will be amazed when they see it the 60s styling elements really work.

The Raptor still has them. They moved from the center console to the ceiling, which is a much better location.

My only hope is the styling, both interior and exterior is kept simple, relatively chrome free and un-adorned with questionable whimsical touches as non functional side vents etc etc....fingers crossed with the interior...heck...even a body colored dash is fine with me...time to get back to basics...or well camo'ed tech...

No

Lol.  In all seriousness though, if you guys in the know say it’s going to look right and have some retro-style going on w/o being overdone then I’m good with it.  I do think vent windows on the doors and wipers at the top of the window frame would be pretty cool to see on the final product.

It needs to look like the original model, nothing like the F150 version made famous by O.J.. Ford might be wise to go strongly retro on the first model, and gradually make it somewhat more modern over time, like it has been able to do with the Mustang over several generations.

I don't know why vent  windows went away. I love the idea

Smoking not as popular/air conditioning becoming more or less standard and I'm willing to bet it didn't help NVH either

Lol wut?

Edited for having read das thread.

For our guys in the know... what are the chances Ford brings back the exotic colored interiors like blue and red? Would love to see Ford bring Porno Red back.

Also plus 1 on Vent windows. I would hope the powered rear window is a given.... love that on my 96, add an auto roll down button to the keyfob and make it even better.  The new 4runner has a power rear window so hopefully we will too.

At the very least I would like to see the pop up window like the old BOF Explorer, but I agree for convenience the power retractable window is preferable

The new Expeditions have them so maybe there’s a chance.

Break ins. Push in a little on one side and you can get you fingers under the other. Bend the panel and it's open. Reach in and open the door. Less broken glass and less noise that breaking the full window.

just like the old 2 panel rear windows could be broken into by pushing in a little and sliding the 2 locked panes to either side.

I know who to call if I lock myself out now. :)

The new Explorer PI will have a column shifter. I wonder if the Bronco could possibly get one too

I doubt it-if anything the column shifter on the PIU is just a "dummy" piece since everything is handled electronically. The major driver of a column shifter on the PIU is the radios/laptop mounted inbetween the seats/IP

Interesting that Ranger doesn't come with a column shift like F150 in lower trims.
