Explorer has been a permanent fixture in Ford's line up in the northern part of South America. At one point, Ford was even assembling Explorers in Venezuela. That's clearly not going to happen now but sales will still happen in Colombia for example.

People have been complaining about car prices since the 70's. My dad thought $6000 was "too high" for a new car back then. Now, 40-something buyers long for their "HS days of the 90's".

One main culprit is buyers demand more standard features. ["standard options"  :P]

All it's doing is pushing more buyers into leasing, all they need to do is
cross shop for the lowest monthly payments and best residuals.
