Someone on ttac.com was all giddy about the story, posting "Ford could use the Golf for a new Focus, Jetta for Fusion, and Passat for Taurus."

Got shut down by other posters. Only way passenger cars will "make a comeback" is if Millennials start to buy more and demand them, brand new. Have to see what they actually do when they get higher income.

As we know, never say never with vehicles because the future sometimes turns out different to what’s expected. Cars still have a role to play but only as and where needed. Will Ford dead leg C2 or get into bed with VW and close more German plants, that would work if VW could cover all of Ford’ car needs globally

im astonished that low selling Mondeo gets new 8-speed auto while Fusion sell nearly four times more...

Ford is a leader in trucks and commercial vehicles. VW, not so much. Still do not see what Ford gets.

VW is a big player in heavy commercial vehicles world wide-but Ford (Hackett?) could care less about large commercial vehicles.  Perhaps I should say ..could care less about heavy trucks with the exception of what Ford Otosan cranks out.
