MTC57 0 Report post Posted February 8 Has anyone had problems with not being able to completely fill the gas tank on the 2018 Edge Sport? My gauge will show that I have less than 50 miles to empty but the tank will only take 12 to 13 gallons in a 18.5 gallon tank. The gas will shoot out of the capless fill and puddles underneath. Even though I clean it up immediately, the gas smell doesn't go away. I never had a problem with my 2011 Limited.
akirby 7,325 Report post Posted February 8 First you should never fill it past the first or second click. You can damage the vapour canister. Depending your average mpg it sounds normal. Even at 0 miles to empty there will still be up to a couple of gallons in the tank as a reserve.

That seems very excessive
fordtech1 487 Report post Posted February 8 You said 50 miles to empty. What’s the actual gauge show? 1/4 or 1/8th of a tank? Distance to empty can be skewed from excessive idling. If it’s way off. Disconnect the battery and retest. That will reset DTE and averages.
