tucker_bmd
GM and Toyota offer crew cab long beds. Does anyone know why you can't get a Ranger in this configuration? I know it's personal preference but to me I don't like the look of the crew cab with the short bed. Seems out of proportion. Heck, I'm looking for a SuperCab short bed, like they offer only on the F150 Raptor. HRG

Because Ford doesn't build one in that configuration.
tucker_bmd
I guess I wasn't clear, let me rephrase. Does anyone know why Ford chose not to build this configuration when their competition does?

To reach the most customers in the shortest amount of time, you build the most popular configurations first. Then, you possibly add things later. The crew cab F150 didn't come with its (long) 6.5' bed until 2006 I believe.

Anthony
They wanted to be able to have one wheelbase to cut down on development and build costs. Overseas, they even have a regular cab option with an 8 foot bed on the same wheelbase. 3
2005Explorer
They might offer one depending on how things go for the first year or two. They probably just wanted to focus on the most popular configurations to start with and if the model proves to be successful more configurations will likely be offered. Even the ROW Ranger that's been on sale since 2011 only has one frame length across the board.
