HUD Speed Limit indicator -- what's the source?

The speed limit indicator on the HUD display is pretty handy, but sometimes is wrong (e.g. says 45 when the speed limit is 30).    Does anyone know how/where Lincoln gets this data to the vehicle?   I assume it's part of the navigation maps and will occasionally be updated when I connect the vehicle to wifi and check for updates?   If so, I wonder how frequent the updates are.   I haven't seen one since we took delivered 3 months ago.

It’s in the map data so it’s only as accurate as the maps (which means at least 2-3 years out of date).  It only updates if you buy a map update which Ford said was available but now may not be.   Check with the dealer.  Cost is around $150 if available.
