ice-capades
The 2019 Mustang GT delays are not due to issues with the PP2. I have 2 GT's, neither with the PP2 or MagneRide Suspension, that have been shipped in the past few days. One sat at the plant since 10/03/2018 and was just loaded on a rail car yesterday. The other was loaded on a rail car on Monday and is now in transit going through PA. Both vehicles were released after the Throttle Body Replacement notice so those cars should be okay. I've gotten sold out of (2) Mustang Demo's in the past 2 weeks so I'm anxious to get back into a GT to drive soon!

Trying to get information from Ford about delays is worse than pulling teeth as they don't want the information to become public. Its about as frustrating as trying to use the search function at the FMCDealer.com site!

So you're saying there is an issue with the throttle body assembly and they are delaying orders to mediate the issue?

Usually when that happens they don't delay orders per-se. They build it then fix them after the fact before they’re shipped out. They generally know based on shipping dates on the parts what is effected and what isn't and they test every car anyway so they know exactly what car needs what repair.

The car that was at the plant since 10/03/2018 (Velocity Blue, #300A, Automatic, Black Accent Package, Ford Safe & Smart, Active Valve Performance Exhaust) is on a Canadian National Railways rail car and at an intermediate stop in Ohio with a dealership ETA of 12/07/2018. Mustangs headed in our area aren't usually shipped via Canadian National Railways so I don't know yet what the final rail destination is. It could be going to Newark, NJ, Selkirk, NY or East Brookfield, MA. The other car (Oxford White, #301A, Automatic, Black Accent Package, Ford Safe & Smart, Active Valve Performance Exhaust, Enhanced Security Package, Navigation System) was on a CSX Transportation rail car and arrived at the Twin Oaks, PA ramp last night with a dealership ETA by 12/01/2018. It'll be hauled by either United Road or Fleet Car but may be delayed until there are enough vehicles headed in this direction to fill a carrier. 1FA6P8CF7K5128977_WS.pdf 1FA6P8CF9K5132027_WS.pdf
fuzzymoomoo
I wouldn't read into what railroad owns the railcar it's sitting on, there's still railcars out there with markings for railroads that have been defunct since the 70s. They’re pretty interchangeable.

Understood but the rail car information comes from Ford via Vehicle Visibility and the rail carrier information is usually reliable as it's not from the markings on the cars. Thanks for the feedback though.

Thanks for the feedback though. Maybe perhaps instead of just heading through Appalachia it's going through Canada instead? I know there's a concerted effort among the railroads to mediate traffic through the eternal bottleneck known as the northeast corridor that you sit right in the middle of. fuzzymoomoo
It just occurred to me what probably happened. CN took the car out of Flat Rock and south to Ohio where they interchanged with either CSX or NS. CN doesn't really go that Far East into Ohio but they do have an interchange somewhere near Defiance (I think). Probably CSX as they go farther into New England than NS does. FWIW, CN isn't just a Canadian carrier--they have rail lines as far south as Mississippi.

True, but they don't go very far to the east in the US. CSX and Norfolk Southern own pretty much anything east of Ohio, especially through the Appalachian mountains. ice-capades
The Velocity Blue Mustang GT was transferred from Canadian National to CSX Transportation at the intermediate point in Ohio. As such it'll be headed to the Twin Oaks, PA ramp and then hauled by United Road. The Oxford White GT arrived at the Twin Oaks ramp a few days ago and was marked "Hot" for expedited delivery but may sit for a bit until they can fill a carrier with vehicles headed to this area. That’s correct - the CN obtained trackage from Chicago to the Gulf when it acquired the Illinois Central RR in 1998.

ice-capades
The White GT (301A, Automatic, Black Accent Package, Active Valve Performance Exhaust, Navigation) arrived from the Twin Oaks, PA ramp and was delivered via United Road yesterday morning. It was prepped and detailed after I left the office yesterday and was inside the service department waiting for me early this morning and is now in Demo service. The photos don't do the car justice! 1FA6P8CF9K5132027_WS.pdf

brucelinc
Engine cover helps keep the DI/HPFP noise down. I prefer the lower front end compared to the earlier models. Likely better aero and definitely better visibility. When you have white, it will always look right.
