Feds:Fear of factory floor fed UAW corruption,

Recommended Posts

reads an article in the Detroit News on 11/6/2018.Human nature combined with unethical people is the root cause of corruption be it in the  UAW or politics etc. Therefore rules and penalties  need to be established in order to try and prevent corruption. When Gary W. from local 600 tried to pass a referendum that would require, that a vote on the UAW National Contract, to have the same safeguards in place,as a local vote for president it was refused. This tells me that the IUAW will not change. The only thing that will change will be the names of the people who get caught, next time.At Local 600, basically the old Rouge facility plus DTP,I saw a mitty-man walking around with a plastic bucket with a slot in the lid, handing out pieces of paper with YES or NO,asking if you wanted  to vote and if you voted you checked YES or NO then dropped a slip of paper into the plastic bucket and your name was scratched off a list.I ask you,is this what you would consider a secure vote?Did I see any actual "funny business" occur? No.Was I there to witness the counting of those slips of paper? No.Am I sure that the vote was either legitimate or illegitimate? No.I was busy on that Factory Floor, the same one that all those IUAW fat cats are so fearful of ending up on.By the way I voted yes on the contract. What I am saying is that rules and procedures and penalties need to be in place and in force in order to prevent the temptation that naturally arises from our own human nature.WE are the union people, lets demand change!

Calm Down Cec.....

Everyone knows where the training comes from on the local level corruption in our union, hell the international prides themselves on that.

As far as the corporate level corruption, come on Cecil the fed`s and corporate bunk buddies have been passing that employee/tax payer back and forth for years.

I`ve been working at it and for it for years, I never missed a vote, I`ve listen too and read about all those smiling faces that can`t tell the truth and spend millions of dollars just to work for "We the Peep`s"  till I finally understand.

It is all a snow job, there ain`t no change, won`t be no change till the sheeeepies start thinking and we all know that ain`t happennin....  The only thing that has any consistency is the easiest thing a politician or union rep has to do on their agenda is feed sheepies bullshit. Those crazy sheepies gobble it up every time it is served. With a smile.

Oh, I haven`t ever voted for a bullshit contract. Spend many hours reading bullshit contracts but never voted for one. Spent some time listening to those that told me I should be thankful but, still never voted for a bullshit contract. Voting down the last two or three here at CAP has worked out pretty good. :hat_tip:

I'm assuming you’re referring to local contracts

at least your local is bothering to negotiate a local...

Our I guess his title is chairman but it doesn't fit, and his entourage walking around (not following safety, no safety glasses no proper work shoes) like they have a clue saying they're not bargaining for legacy early retirement/buyout packages at CAP in the same breath he's telling C crew they'll be called back as needed. Last time workers at CAP received some layoffs they didn't take it so well. All the legacy workers I've talked to are looking forward to offers but will we see any if our chairman isn't listening to his members and bargaining for them?

No, local 551 isn't really a typical local. 4000+ members and you barely get enough to show up for a meeting. They're basically company yes men, ask for help from a rep. " they can do that" even though they don't read any contract language. They're all day shift A crew reps never really see them at night, they work the schedule to benefit their day shift schedule. Solidarity isn't available in Chicago. They're all out, broke with our escalators.

Nope Fuzzy, I was referencing master agreements. Master Agreement....? really?  now that's a goofy way to put it.

I used to read agreements. But not anymore cause its easier to say "I dunno to the sheepies" questions about silly sheep concerns.

When they get caught, you have to make it hurt..... Some people get 1 year..... 2 years....... $10,000 fine..big deal...... more like 10-15 years and $100,000 fine.........  so when someone gets the idea to go in the wrong direction maybe they will think twice..........

History will repeat itself. Because of Corporate greed and Union corruption want it.

In the 90's when Ford bought up auto parts suppliers, computer companies, Volvo, Land Rover, Aston Martin and credit card balance sheets. They forgot Ford`s basis units that made them the money. Then the downturn came, they were forced to close plants and layoff people. Is Ford in a position for the next downturn...?  (No I don`t have a crystal ball that see`s the next down turn, just wondering out loud)

Ford buys run down buildings, train station, bike company, technology for driverless units, building complete electric units and spending cash on building $100 grand units? No more Mom & Pop transportation, no more collage kid transportation, no more first car from Mom and entry level units that roll off the line costing more that two years earnings of an entry level employees wages.

Henry would be so proud.

Then today this....

Let’s Go for a Spin: Ford Buys Scooter Company to Provide Customers a First-Last Mile Solution

History Does Repeat Itself

Don't bother fixing up your existing plants. Please, by all means keep buying fad companies and run down buildings to fix up

Yep, they spend money on some of the silliest shit.

Sold the last of the shares last week that I bought when we were junky status before. Made enough to buy an old abandoned Gary. Some Hackett thinking going on....

I am with you on buyouts. I am hoping that they offer them so I can leave and it will keep the newer people working. The new subpay is terrible for people with low seniority it will run out pretty quick.

My point still stands Decker and there is nothing to calm down about.... the Republican level of hypocrisy is astounding. I am still amazed at the number on Union workers who vote for Repubs. They do nothing but enrich themselves and corporations, break Unions, keep wages down, deny healthcare to Americans, start wars, bring racist policies, gut education, roll back environmental and worker protection rules, give the rich even more tax cuts, and list could go on and on so telling me to calm down is like telling people on a plane crashing into the ocean "just be calm and remain seated everything will be ok". These CRIMINALS that are destroying our society need to be stopped at every turn including going after Unions.😠

Since the UAW uses pattern bargaining to negotiate our contract and started with FCA, it should be deemed null and void since these corrupt union negotiators were not bargaining in good faith, they were all taking money from the company.

why isn’t this being investigated?

i voted no on the last contract

If, and only If it is true that FCAU ceo ,Sergio Marchionne told his employees to keep the union officials "fat, dumb and happy" then its obvious that unethical business practices are expected and given the okay from the man at the very top of the corporation. The investigation into corruption  is not closed by law enforcement and it will be interesting to see how far up in the IUAW it goes. You know,I mean no disrespect to the local union reps many of whom I have met are ethical and good union people.I understand there is only so much they can do.That one Chrysler executive who was found guilty had purchased a $37,000 pen?WTF is that?I must really be a Michibilly because I could look at that pen all day and not understand what is so great about it.Now take that $37,000 and instead, spend it on a UAW workers child to help him/her with their education and yeah I can say,now that is worth $37,000.Who sells their soul and goes to prison for a $37,000 pen?We got a contract coming up and issues like, temporary workers and retirees and healthcare are important and yes, buyouts too.Lots of good union people on this website and that is a moral boost!

Please don't bring politics into this. I vote Republican realizing that there is always going to be hypocrisy. Sounds like you've bought into all the talking points.

Corruption is everywhere. But I'm not going to stand around waiting for someone to tell me what to do and how to think.

That's why I was shouting "FAKE" at that election ad the UAW was running on Hulu. Endorse politicians both democrat and republican (FAKE!) who stand with working families (FAKE!). There's no such thing as a politician who isn't self serving anymore.

Oh by the way they didn't endorse a single republican in case you were wondering. They even lie in their TV ads!

Hey.... you`re letting those sheepy tendencies sneak out Cecil.

One of the most ironic Washington syndromes is the complete stupidity of being against something, anything that would be best for the working people and people in general just because "your" party didn`t introduce it or release it to the press first. You ever notice how the truth or common sense about an issue or any cause is lost in all the naa sayers bullshit? Really Cecil this goes for both demo`s and repubo`s.

8 years of repubo`s, then 8 years of demo`s, then 4 years of repubo`s, then 8 years of demo`s now at least four years of instagramo, texto and twitterboy.... get the picture Cecil? The campaign trial is the most bullshit laden trail in all time, but it is entertaining to sheeppies.  Somewhere way back when a "politician" stated the USA needed a revolution every so many year just to keep the government (politicians) in step with? We the Peep`s.

I`m not sure any revolution will ever take place in Washington but, I am sure of one thing, whatever this thing we call our representation organization has become definitely needs a revolution....bad.

If you haven`t noticed Cec, I completely support (in a calm manner) that you can still see and believe that the demo`s will save you and make things all better. I believe it`s your constitutional right to sip the cool aid. :hat_tip:

they get the same subpay as legacy don't they? We'll need to get on our chairman and bargaining reps to make sure offers are out there. From what the chairman was saying last week he wasn't looking for buyouts at CAP. Of course I don't take what he or any other 551 reps says as truth because I don't think any of them know how to read the contract let alone bargain for it.

Just look at all the states that are Democrat controlled, how are they doing? Illinois had full Democrat control from 2003 to 2014 and what do we have to show for it?

Anyone who is a Libertarian is someone who thinks they need nobody, will never need any help and always blames the victim. I voted Democrat only because I knew Trump was going to be much worse and that has proved to be true. Actually for the record I am a Democratic Socialist...that is right I said a Democratic Socialist. A person who believes on Universal healthcare ,Education, strong Unions, strong environmental laws, new infrastructure, prison reforms, heavy taxes on the wealthy, clean renewable energy and Ending of ALL wars against countries that have not attacked the U.S. I am just curious just how many tax cuts and crappy trade deals do we need to keep giving to the already wealthy to provide us peasants with shit pay jobs with no future and benefits? The statement "fat, dumb and happy" was referenced in court documents multiple times Fatso. I agree with the class action law suit that is trying to get a decision on whether or not the contract was legal in the light of the court findings and prison sentencings. Along with the question of pattern bargaining, if the FCAU contract was influenced, then with the pattern bargaining that IUAW is entrenched on how couldn`t the other contracts be influenced? It was all over the press about how Dennis stated "we will go with FCUA first" during the now known corruption situations at FCUA. This statement by Dennis to chose FCUA went completely against the norm for past pattern bargaining. This would put any additional pattern bargaining in a different light then true collective bargaining.  Then to have the Great Jimmy come to the locals pushing so hard for the acceptance of anything the company needed, would make any juror think about influence.

Cecil.... labeling seems to be a norm thing in your posts. Demo - Repo - Libo ? really? Why all the I`m right and everyone else is wrong, stuff... Keep it generalized Cec and calm the folk down, if you don`t watch that BP you could be a dead demo. Heart attack just ain`t worth it. :hat_tip:

There is always Venezuela if it's so bad here.

It's proven Trump is worse than if somebody else got elected? Are there any FACTS behind that statement?
