I dont understand how people think that knocking Fords current products

adds any traction to their own cause. Ford Corp doesnt care about enthusiasts

who are rooted ina nostalgic version of the past. We enthusiasts have known

that for decades.

If Ford is channeling its history and nostalgia, its for something they are sell today

Not to cosy up to the rest of us.......

Sorry iPhone and fat fingers

And yes, people will wait an extra year if necessary. What a silly question.

The last I heard, Randall Made Knives had a three year lead time, and the Shiloh Sharps Rifle Company had a lead time of almost two years--and they've both had those insanely long lead times for more than 25 years. Some things are worth waiting for, and the people who want (and can afford) them are willing to wait for them.

It's part of the process, and it's not a secret. If anything, it adds to the allure.

It’s a silly question because these people didn’t just put their name on a waiting list. They are Ford fanatics who had to make an application and get accepted by Ford. The GT is a unique vehicle and most already knew they would have to wait for up to 3 years so another 6 months to 1 year isn’t going to make them back out. And if they do there are hundreds of people waiting to take their place.

Where is Fords Focus ST , Fiesta ST Focus RS? Ford is killing these cars off did you forget that part? Ya Ford built the Gt to compete in LeMans so what. it's over priced and being beat on the track and on the street by the Vette for 1/3 the price. And how many GT's have been built? No where near what they said would be built by this time. Who cares how much bigger the engine is in the Vette it still kick the snot out of the GT. Come on akiby you can't cover for all of Fords short comings with just the profit comment you faithfully use to cover for their screw ups in the performance realm. Ford is getting the ass kicked left and right by GM constantly.

Yep, proof of over-medicating in this country...!

1.  The GT is doing fine in racing, and I hadn't noticed that the class-rival Corvettes were than much cheaper...so your argument is bizarre.
2.  The top-level Vette may hold a minimal advantage over the GT in some conditions, but it's still hilariously garish to look at and suffers typical GM build quality issues.
3.  The Camaro is a far worse car than the Mustang, and only out-performs it (in some guises) by amounts slight enough to be overcome by driver skills.  Why suffer gunslit windows and worst-in-class styling for 1/10th of a second at some drag strip?

4.  GM is crap, and seemingly determined to stay that way.  It's nothing new that they'll build a "numbers" Camaro/Corvette that still has interior trim falling off in the first year of ownership.

Back away from the paint thinner, and put its lid back on.

Isn't the engine in the GTLM Vette still installed a foot further to the rear than  the production Vette? I haven't been able to attend races the last few years, and they no longer make the concessions given manuf's - public - so it is hard to find out now.

But one check of the results of the 2018 season and the GT won the manufacturers championship for Ford. Yeah, a Vette team won the 'Team championship' (without winning a single race}, but the Manufacturers Championship is more important.

Unless things have changed drastically recently, the only GTLM cars that come close to the production cars are the GT and the 488.
