Okladoug
I am getting this error message that my navigator needs to be in park when I brake and also when it is reverse. I am not sure about other situations since I just picked up my Navigator and have less than 100 miles as you can see in the attached pictures. My dealer is working with ford engineers. It rides and drives great and doesn't effect the driveability. You hit OK and it goes away until your next breaking or shifting to reverse. Any thoughts of what is causing it or remedy ? Dlcorbett
Ive bever seen that on my expy, have you taken it to a dealer?
twintornados
I will get that message when I am not in park and I open the door....you know how sometimes when backing up, you may open the door to look backwards. Maybe a faulty door sensor?

Okladoug
I have taken it back to the dealer. They are consulting with a Ford engineer to diagnose the probkem.

Okladoug
I hope it is something such as a faulty door sensor. I didn't get any message that a door was open along with the message to put it in park.
