rmc523
https://www.tflcar.com/2018/09/2019-lincoln-nautilus-first-drive/ Overall sounds like he likes it, though he kept calling its predecessor MKZ....which reiterates why they're changing to names. I think it looks great in the Rhapsody Blue/Chalet combo he had. Chalet fixed my biggest gripe with MKX's Modern Heritage - it puts wood trim at the bottom of the center stack instead of stupid piano black trim. RadicalX
I love this new grill. The old split gril was beautiful in some angles, but in others it left the pointy car (chicken beak). Lincoln's getting the right answers to the market issues, but it's taking too long. The aviator needs to get there faster. As for the Nautilus, I think they should have changed the back. Changing your name during a facelift was already inappropriate, but without radically changing the design was a failure. Change of name suggests drastic change of anything. I believe that the C2 of the Focus may be the perfect choice for the new generations of MKC/Corsair and MKX/nautilus (post 2021). I also expect a successor of MKZ to China soon. It is a car as old as the MKT, which will be replaced by aviator
akirby
Change of name doesn’t imply anything other than a new name.
Jqa1824
Uh...the MKT was launched for the 2010 MY while the current MKZ debuted for 2013 for a 2017 refresh.

Assimilator
The next generation Nautilus is 2023 so it wasn't really necessary to wait that long if a thorough facelift can speed up the renaming sequence. I think it was a mistake to update the MKC before the rename, it's the only vehicle with an MK name to use that new Lincoln fascia. The Nautilus looks pretty good from some angles, a little ungainly from others, but it polishes up nicely in Black Label and looks much more upscale. I would definitely get the Black Label treatment this time, it was competley pointless previously. akirby
I thought Nautilus/MKC was a slightly different design than MkZ/Continental.

It is a car as old as the MKT, which will be replaced by aviator It'll be interesting to see how this does. It should at least maintain MKX's current sales volume, but I wonder if them giving it a name will give it more attention/bring in people that had no idea what a MK"which one?"(X) was before, that wouldn't even know it didn't drastically change from MKX. MKC didn't get a new name because it's being replaced next year. Nautilus will live on for another few years, and would've been a name orphan (alongside MKT), which would've looked bad. I'm normally not a big fan of changing a name on a refresh (I think it harmed the 200 name at Chrysler using it on a refreshed Sebring), but here I think it was ok. The next generation Nautilus is 2023 so it wasn't really necessary to wait that long if a thorough facelift can speed up the renaming sequence. It was a bit surprising for MKC to get the new grille so close to its redesign (I'm surprised it didn't happen for 2018), but I guess they wanted everything to have the new grille quickly and didn't want to wait for Corsair. They did go cheap with it though, by changing literally only the grille, and not changing the headlights or lower grille at all. I thought Nautilus/MKC was a slightly different design than MkZ/Continental. What do you mean? I think they use the different/better grille insert. jasonj80
Odd that no one else has published anything, this must have broken the embargo, got special permission or got accidentally published.
akirby
Either the embargo is over or they’re all ignoring it now that TFL published their story. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/mark-phelan/2018/09/19/6-things-buyers-like-2019-lincoln-nautilus/1354697002/

jcartwright99
Mind you, both we're just very high level reviews.....mostly just going over features. Not a review of how it rides, performance, or any other metric really.

RadicalX
Today I saw an review of Nautilus by Motor Trend. It and MKC have the most beautiful fronts of the Lincoln range. I follow the comments now and many like the car, although some think the interior too conservative. It made Me think of the beautiful interior of the aviator and Navigator. Definitely represent evolution. I think the Nautilus will be fine, depending on the harmony of the 2.0 with the 8F57 transmission.
