2019 Ford Edge build and price is up

Recommended Posts

An ST Line version would be nice. I dont need the extra performance, just give me the looks. And dont make it like the 2018 sport appearance package. The exterior was nice but the brown and black seats with the grey headliner completely ruined that entire package.

Yeah that face continues to be not great on the Edge.

It seems as though Ford sought to move the Edge closer visually to the Ecospot, which is a not attractive vehicle (particularly the front end). It appears this front end treatment has been chosen to proliferate through the lineup, hopefully it won't infect other products as much.

I was hoping there was another grill option, but no luck.

No exterior appearance packages either. I was hoping for something unique...I guess I'll wait for the Bronco.

Titanium has the Elite Appearance Package which does change the look substantially, although the configurator has some bugs since the lower cladding is suppose to be body colored.

Edge is starting to look dated even with the facelift, it basically looks like the Fusion. I still think it's a great looking vehicle and the new fascia is a welcome improvement that moves it slightly closer to modernity. I hated the old fascia's huge gaps and seams, it looked very low quality and dull.

Edge is still one of a kind, not many vehicles can match it on available power and performance. My Dad had a 2015 Edge SE and it was solid and silent like a bank vault, impressive vehicle for the price.

The grille is ok. If they would make it the magnetic color of the grille on the ranger sport appearance package, I think itd look better. I dislike the fake chrome on any vehicle though and always get the sport package to get it as monocromatic as possible.

Yeah that face continues to be not great on the Edge. I remain nostalgic for the 3-bar, against all sanity and logic.

I love the new front end, and didn't like the '15-18. Had it looked like this before, I'd have one already.

The engine has been tuned for 30 more HP and the trans has better shifting in addition to better suspension tuning.

MKX/Nautilus has always had 335-hp on the 2.7EB.

I have a friend shopping for an Edge this year and the issue we are encountering is, shes stuck with the 245-250HP I-4, or the 335HP V6, like there's no in between, the I-4 just gives it an average of 8.5 0-60, while this up-powered V6 I estimate will do it mid 5's. The sweet spot was the 3.5L at around 280HP, but that's out the door for 2019, so I was placed to do a hunt for a 2018 model...

I think they should have turned up the wick a bit more on the 2.0 (which it can handle) to 275/300. Really, the Nautilus needed the 2.3 but I've harped on that a million times. The positive on this is that I've heard fuel economy numbers have increased by 2-3 mpg with new transmission and AWD system.

The 3.5 only had 250 lb/ft of torque. The 2.0EB has 275 and it has it at lower RPM. I don’t remember driving an Edge with the 2.0L but I had a Titanium Fusion 2.0LEB to compare with our 3.7L MKX and I would take the 2.0L every day. It’s much faster off the line. With the MKX I feel like I have to floor it to get it going. But maybe that’s just me.

Edge ST and Ranger raptor come into the same question. A lot of people claim that they both have a power below the expected, but they are offroad vehicles. Suspension adjustments for high-sized cars are crucial for them to be quick in what they propose to do, although Edge ST has a more urban intention, despite being an SUV. Edge St would not have the Eco Boost 3.0 TT 400HP because it will be setting the Explorer ST. Ranger Raptor has an eco blue because Diesel are more suitable for Offroad
