If they charged during overnight hours, I don't think there would be as a big impact and its not like we are going to switch over to cars at a 10% conversion rate year to year. Remember the hype about hydrogen powered fuel cells a few years ago? Yeah what ever happened to hydrogen fuel cells? Maybe battery technology is deemed easier and safer.
