chicho
Hello folks, first time poster here. I'm about to close a deal on a 2013 Hybrid MKZ (Crystal Champagne could not find Platinum White) fully loaded with Panoramic sunroof with 54K miles, the car looks pristine. I'm having the car shipped to PA from TX. I'm getting it for 17K out the door, and paying $850 to have it shipped. Am I crazy to be paying this much for a 5 year old car. Was not able to find a better deal or a newer one within that budget with a panoramic roof. Will I be able to get at least 5 dependable years out of it? Thank you all for your experience and help. Trailhiker
That sounds like a great car for the price. Mileage is low enough, and yeah...I'd say you could get 5 years with average maintenance costs.
akirby
Easily.
gthims
We have a 2013 MKZ with the V6. My wife loves the car & I expect it to go easily another five years.
chicho
Thank you for the positive responses, I was beginning to have buyers regret and can still back out of the deal until I receive papers and sign. Question for those that know, do all MKZ's that have adaptive cruise control have a HUD system as well? Is it possible that it can have adaptive cruise control but not collision mitigation? I ask this because the window sticker makes no mention of collision mitigation option but the Ford Etis VIN tool mentions it. Also any way to update the system to stop and go adaptive cruise control like the newer models. Thanks all Edited September 5, 2018 by chicho
akirby
No HUD. I think all you get on 2013s is an audible and visible collision warning. Automatic braking didn’t appear until the last year or so. Don’t worry though - unless you’re physically incapacitated the warning will allow you to brake yourself in plenty of time.
gthims
We have the audible and visual brake warnings on our 2013 MKZ. But the only automatic braking is with the adaptive cruise on and that drops out around 10 to 15 MPH.
DeeCee
Not sure about the 2013 but my 2017 collision warning is a poor mans HUD as it flashes the visual warning red light onto the windscreen.
