Sevensecondsuv
Not really, theyre very easy to fix on the cheap, which is perfect for most departments since most of them are cash strapped anyway. Don't I know it. You're preaching to the choir lol. Errrr, mafia that is....
jpd80
Might wanna recheck that. Vast majority of the PIs are 3.7s and in cities and suburbs, state highway police in most states are V8s. Northern states prefer the PIs (snow). Maybe i should have said V6 versus V8 sales...but yeah, over 60% of LEV sales are PIU and PI.(no V8s) Where there's a lot more low speed work and idling, there's no need for a V8 especially when AFM is usually at light cruise, not idle and low speed running. SoonerLS
It's kind of hard to believe there's still so many CVPIs out and about 7 years later but departments really seem to hang on to those things. It shouldn't be. When Ford finally announced that they were killing the Panthers, departments placed big orders to get the last of them, and some said they were doing so because they had big stockpiles of spare parts and supplies for the CVPIs. 92merc
Does anyone know if the 3.0EB has dual injection like the updated 2.7EB in the F150 has?
fordmantpw
Does anyone know if the 3.0EB has dual injection like the updated 2.7EB in the F150 has? I don't see why it wouldn't since the 3.0 is just a larger version of the 2.7.
zgxtreme
Funny--that was the same complaint I heard from OHP Troopers about the CVPIs...Id give up my issued Charger for a Klondike Bar. I shouldve kept my 06 Crown Vic until they physically took the keys from me. Ive pled with our purchasing guy to look at Ford but the Maintenance Director formerly worked at Dodge Corporate in the Performance area so we know theres zero chance of a change regardless of how bad these cars suck.
