New F-150XLT

I ordered a new 2018 F-150XLT for myself and one for my son a month ago. My prior truck was a 2008 Toyota Tundra. I haven't owned a Ford in many years. I had an Lincoln Town Car in the '80's and an Expedition in the late '90's.

I'm real excited about all I've read about the capabilities of the New F-150 with the 3.5 ecoboost. I just got the VIN from my dealer today, and went on to COTUS website to try to track it. The system was not working properly. Any advice on when it will be running? My dealer said to expect the truck by mid October. Is that an unusually long time? I don't really understand the system well. I saw a video that said it takes 20 hours to actually produce a truck...and three months to get it? I'm not complaining, just want to understand.

I ordered both F-150's on July 16. One for me, and one for my older son. My salesman was really nice. He said not to expect it before 12 weeks, although they will probably come in sooner. He didn't like to get hopes up too soon. I found the COTUS site, but needed a VIN to track the truck. I finally got both VIN's today and found the system wasn't operational. I'm just frustrated and anxious. I hear great stories about the new F-150's. In the mean time, my younger son lives off the grid in North Carolina with his wife and needed a good truck. My 2008 Tundra has 65,000 miles on it and runs great...so...I gave it to him, and now I'm driving a 2005 Honda Accord until my F-150 shows up. It's stifling alot of things I want to do!
