Pr3dict
Hi All, I'm being forced into a company car and I have the option of ordering it now or waiting for the 19's to be available (Which I imagine is later in August) My only issue is that I don't know the configuration of the new fleet vehicles and from the 19 ordering guide it looks like it is going to be a downgrade?! Right now I can get an 18 SE AWD Fusion with, Luxury package, Technology package, & Driver Assist. When I look at the 2019 Ordering guide it looks like the SE is doing away with the Luxury package so if my company sticks with the SE then I will be getting a lower optioned car. Does this sound right? The new SEL is basically the SE W/ luxury package. I'm afraid to take the gamble of waiting but not sure what to do. Thoughts? fuzzymoomoo
Well if you are planning on ordering and not finding one on a dealer lot then its too late to get a 2018. Keep in mind that for 2019 Ford is really pushing the Fusion Hybrid and making it a lot harder for dealers to get production allocation for the regular gas Fusion. To answer your last question yes, the new SEL is basically the old SE w/luxury package. They did the same thing with the 2018 Focus and Escape. Theyre trying to streamline model lines to make it easier for customers to find what they want on the lot without having to special order and at the same time streamline build processes. Pr3dict
According to the production timeline it says that 18 orders are going until 08/20/2018. This is a fleet vehicle keep in mind. Also, the Ford website still has the 18's up and no mention of 19. Any idea why? Edited August 1, 2018 by Pr3dict
fuzzymoomoo
You either misread it or misunderstood it. The last day to order a 2018 Fusion was 5/4/18. The last day of production is 8/20/18. As to why theres no mention of the 19 on the website is because they havent started building them yet. I havent looked in a while so I cant remember if its there or not, but you might be able to find it in the future vehicles tab.
Pr3dict
Welp, hopefully the new fusion that they have to offer is a 19 SEL. The only other option is a taurus AWD but that thing is no bueno from my understanding.
ice-capades
Job #1 Date for the 2019 Fusion is 08/21/2018. The OTD (Order-to-Delivery) estimated lead time for 2019 Fusion fleet orders is 14-16 weeks per the latest FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin).
