mackinaw
New-car owners found Lincoln Motor Co.'s Navigator to be the most gratifying model on the market, J.D. Power said Wednesday. The Navigator had the highest overall score in the J.D. Power 2018 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study, which measures the satisfaction of new car owners. Its APEAL score was 915 out of 1,000, the highest level recorded since 2013. "To be top of the industry, you have to do everything well," said Dave Sargent, J.D. Power's vice president, global automotive. "They hit it out of the park." https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/2018/07/25/lincoln-navigator-tops-j-d-power-apeal-survey/826354002/
akirby
Interesting that Mitsubishi is most improved but still dead last. I don’t see Navigator in the list. Is that the top large premium SUV category that they left out because they already announced that Navigator was the winner? Expedition took top large SUV. The segment Navigator is in, Large Premium SUV, isn't listed by J.D. Power in its 2018 APEAL press release for the following reason. "Note: There must be either at least four ranked models or three ranked models comprising at least 80% of sales in any given segment for an award to be presented. The Compact Multi Purpose Vehicle and Large Premium SUV segments did not meet either of these criteria, thus no award is presented in that segment." rperez817
I guess Navigator, Escalade, GLS, QX80 aren't enough? Like other survey companies, J.D. Power has a threshold for sufficient number of responses for each model. In the Large Premium SUV segment, only Navigator and Escalade had enough survey responses to be considered "ranked". GLS, QX80, Land Cruiser, and LX570 had too few owners respond to the APEAL survey and were not "ranked".
ICEMAN316
They did a great job with the Navigator. I was very impressed with it.
