ozymandias
I've read another thread on here where someone discussed using Forscan to disable the auto-engine-off at stoplights. Cool. I'm trying to get an idea of what else it might be able to do. Things I'm interested in changing: 1) sensitivity of rear liftgate "kick to open" as it only works less than half the time for me even with multiple "kicks". 2) disable the LED lights that seem to come on under the headlights when the car is in gear no matter what. They reek to me of "daytime running lights", which I don't like the idea of. 3) disable the horn honking when the car is running and I step out of it to open one of the other doors or to put something in the back/get something out of the back. The honk isn't great when you have a sleeping kid in the car. Are any of these possible? Any other worthwhile changes to make with Forscan? akirby
1 - not that I know of. The key is to kick straight up and touch the top of your foot to the bottom of the bumper about a foot to either side of center. Don't wave it back and forth or stick it straight underneath. This works 100% of the time for me. 2 - this can actually be disabled by the dealer if you don't have it in your left hand menu. They are DRLs. I think they look great personally. 3 - yes this can be disabled by Forscan but it's easy to work around. Just don't close the door all the way. Go look at the Explorer and F150 forums - those are the most active with Forscan mods and the F150 should be identical to your Expedition. ozymandias
Thanks. I'll try your tip on the kick thing later today. I'll also check on #3. In my mind, I feel like it honks at me when I get out even if I leave the door open. It seems it honks if I just step out of the car. I'll double-check this though as I could easily be remembering it wrong. Thanks for the tips.
Dave_SF
I'd like to know if it's possible to default the security to "proximity only" instead of "all sensors". We routinely have our dog with us, and so i have to toggle it to "proximity only" every time we leave her in the car, even for just 5 minutes. It's super annoying
