A/C evaporator

Recommended Posts

Ive read to replace this you need to basically pull the whole IP and center console apart to get at it. Is this true? Mine needs replacement (MY2008) and I dont want to pay a shop $2k to do it.

Yes you do. Not that bad. Just flip the dash into the seats and pull the case.

$2K??? It's 7.3 hours of labor, core is about $100 aftermarket plus R-134. Shouldn't even be close to $2k.

Ford sells the evaporator in the HVAC box. It's pricy as hell (around $900). Aftermarket is the only way to go. They are around $100. O.E. Condenser is kind of pricy too, dependent on trans and build date.
