Recommended Posts

Does anyone know exactly what is included in the 2018 Edge Class II Trailer Tow Prep Package (53G) ?

Is it available with all 3 engine options ?

Not available on the current Sport, but will be available on the 2019 ST.

It's really not the 2.7 per se - it's the Sport bodywork that doesn't allow for the hitch. And maybe the tires.

You can easily add an aftermarket hitch if you don't need to tow more than 2000 lbs. I did a Hidden Hitch on our MKX and it looks good and doesn't interfere with the kick sensor either.

I am betting it is the wheels and tires.

You give up upgraded cooling fans, upgraded radiator and trailer sway control.

Yes but if you’re towing less than 2000 lbs that isn’t a big issue. Some people only use the hitch for a bike rack or luggage carrier.

I could be a big issue, depends on where you need to drag that 2000lbs....
