2019 Ram 1500

Hmm. My dad's 2017 doesn't have the fin on the roof.....couldn't they at least center it?

The bizarre thing is - it's only the trucks that keep the antenna. Literally every other product has gone to a fin or something similar. Why the trucks retain the regular one is beyond me.

The fin is for the WIFI hotspot and satelite.

Ram definitely has my attention. They have quietly smacked GM in the face with better small details in their redesign. While the design is pretty conservative, their front end doesn't look like a geometrically challenged project (new Silvy)

I can see GM struggling to compete honestly.

Ford? If I were designer for a day-

  • Make the FX4 relevant as a Rebel and Trail Boss contender. More lift, larger tires, etc. Make it cost competitive. No chrome- Sport package inspired. A true bad a$$ macho look. All about the stance and off-road capability on a budget
  • Bring back the 6.2 as an option. Its already in their portfolio. While I am a huge EB fan, I get stoked when I fire off the 6.2 in my 13 Raptor (MBRP catback). Couldn't imagine the fun with the 10 speed. The 5.0 is competitive but the 6.2 has down low grunt
  • Consider boosting the 5.0 instead of the 6.2 option. Imagine 500 easy hp
  • While the back seat is very roomy, add the reclining feature. Nice touch for those of us with kids. My Raptor already dwarfs the wife's 15 Expy for rear seat room. The reclining feature would just be icing
  • Improve marketing. Ford hasn't really had to do much here so they play it safe. Show some burnouts, off road crawling with mud slung up the sides, pulling a heavy boat up the interstate. You know- America.

Marketing for the F-series is the one place they do marketing right.

I'm not sold on the taillights....I've swapped my '16 F150 LEDs to the '18 F150 LEDs...a much nicer appearance.

I'll most likely buy a new pickup later this year...will the Ram be enough to sway me from getting a '19 F150? That's to be determined, but this new Ram does look like a big step up from the previous body style.

Its sad the non-blis LEDs are not offered on more f-150s they have the nicest appearance of any of them at night with the red led box.

The new Ram looks great in person, will be interesting on how the eTorque system reviews are.

Yep, the halogen taillight is an eyesore! I ordered my '16 with BLIS just to get the LED tails, come to find out - I enjoy having BLIS!

I think it looks nice, but my impression is the Dodge/RAM Truck customers liked their trucks overly gaudy - no?

If the Dodge guys wanted handsome understated Trucks, they would have been buying Fords or Chevys for the past two decades.
