Anyone with an auto transport recommendation?

After doing exhaustive legwork my son bought a new Raptor from a dealer in Ohio. He lives in Phoenix area. Because of a family connection he got great pricing there. None of the dealers around here who add on tens of thousands of markup would cooperate on receiving the truck locally from Ford. Long story short, he is going to have the vehicle delivered to the selling dealership and pony up the cost of shipping it out here.

Have any of you had a good experience with an auto transport company that you would recommend?

Did he try buying from Sanderson Ford? They claim no ADM on any vehicle they sell.

Yes, he tried Sanderson. Also Berge (where his employer buys all their company vehicles), Jones (our family has bought nine new vehicles there). They all wanted to deal on in-stock trucks and at well above MSRP. The prize went to Rodeo Ford (Earnhardt)...they were asking $25K over MSRP (on an order no less).

My other son is shopping for a new (loaded) Super Duty diesel. His best price was at a dealer in Minnesota...another long winter drive if he were to buy it there; but their offer started well below "invoice."

Try Szott Ford in Holly MI, they have some of the most competitive prices in the area. Talk to Tom, and tell him A listener sent you his way. Hell know what youre talking about.

Thank you both for your input. You're both right about the cost to fly out and drive back. But, according to him, he'd rather have it shipped given the time of year and unpredictability of the weather between here and there.

He's worried about the weather???

Ive driven from the western edge of Illinois to the Imperial Sand dunes in Southern California in 24 hours during the winter months. Take the drive, youll enjoy it.

post-12646-0-16905300-1523029090_thumb.jpgRaptors are like the goose that lays golden eggs for dealers. It was his experience that every local dealer wanted him to buy from them but none of them were receptive to accepting delivery or doing any prep on a high-dollar vehicle they didn't sell w/o demanding serious "handling fees." They all further hinted that they probably couldn't be very helpful if any cosmetic issues occured during shipment from the factory--because that would be between Ford and the selling dealership.

Truck arrived in perfect condition with under 4 miles on the clock, the same as the shipper's paperwork stated, so no joy rides were taken en route. There was a lot of severe weather in the middle of the country...but after the truck arrived. Believe me, he saved way more on the purchase than the cost of shipping; which was about equal to what the air fare, fuel, and lodging costs would have been to go and drive it back himself.

Thanks again for everyone's suggestions, but it's time to put this thread to bed.

If it doesn't violate any rules, care to reveal what Minnesota dealer that was?
