ice-capades
Per yesterday's FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin) the following timetable has been announced for the 2018MY Balance Out & 2019MY Job #1. 01/05/2018 - 2018MY Fleet Final Order Due Date 01/25/2018 - 2018MY Last Day to Spec Change 03/25/2018 - 2018MY Job Last Date 01/17/2018 - 2019MY Order Bank Open Date 02/15/2018 - 2019MY Scheduling Begins 03/26/2018 - 2019MY Job #1 Date Looks like the 2018MY Navigator is going to just start arriving at dealerships in volume when the 2019MY Navigator USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) is going to be open! The 2019MY Navigator Order Guide should be released to dealers on or about the date that the USOB opens. Now the speculation can start as to what changes will be made for the 2019 Model Year! Dlcorbett
Does this mean the my19 trucks will start atriving in dealers around june of nxt year....?
boredinbirmingham
Does this mean the my19 trucks will start atriving in dealers around june of nxt year....?I would think so as this is typical for the coming year model to be available summer of the current year. Im curious about any changes, my guess is there wont be anything really different.... maybe some different colors, a King Ranch for Expedition maybe but nothing big. ice-capades
Does this mean the my19 trucks will start atriving in dealers around june of nxt year....? I'd expect a pretty quick "OK to Buy" status and the corresponding shipping release for dealer stock orders. As such, I'd expect the dealer stock orders to start arriving at dealerships early to mid May and retail orders a month or so after that. akirby
Do they still do ok to buy even if there are no significant changes? Even so it should only take 5 or 6 days.
fuzzymoomoo
Do they still do ok to buy even if there are no significant changes? Even so it should only take 5 or 6 days. Yes they do. Just happened last week for Focus/C-Max even though we've been building them for a month.
HofstraJet
That's a pretty short build cycle for MY2018. Wonder if I should cancel my 18 and just wait for the 19, which presumably will have any bugs in the 18 sorted out.

My dealer is still telling me early to mid December but given the ok to buy hasnt been given Im skeptical even given the news that they are building verified customer orders now. Im hesitant on asking the vehicle tracking thread for an update because I dont want to wait another 2 weeks before I can ask again lol

The only change from 18 to 19 will probably be paint colors and maybe some option package differences. Any bugs they fix will get incorporated into the 18s. In this particular case the only advantage outside of new colors would be a slight benefit in resale value, but it won't be more than a few hundred bucks because it's based as much on mileage as on model year.
Journeyguy
they have not even build the retail orders for 18 and we already have 2019 open up from Jan. Interesting to see if any new additions in 19 so that I can order a 2019.

boredinbirmingham
So is this tariff related or Ford just trying to get closer to the Escalade cost to maximize profits? The tech package should have been standard equipment in the Reserve model for 2018 IMHO.

hans.ackerman
Hi ice-capades, Do you have any new news on production for the 2019's by chance? We ordered a 2019 as soon as order banks opened and had an initial build date of mid-October, which moved to "early-to-mid-November." But, that continues to be fluid. We found the exact 2018 on a lot about 600 miles away. Just not sure what we should do at this point as we'd like to get out of our current vehicle as soon as possible. Thanks for any information! GordonZoo
Our dealer is telling us mid December on our Reserve. We ordered 6 weeks ago. Not sure if they really know though.
shiftconvention
Personally, I'd call the dealer that's a bit far away from you and present an offer. Depending on how long it's been on the lot, they may make a deal that's better than $2-3K off sticker, which would make it worth your while. Even better if you can get them to honor X plan (if you're a member). Shipping shouldn't be more than $500-600, so you should net out in a better position. Even on a lease, the '19 residuals aren't totally compensating for the APR and price increases. Let us know how it goes either way! GordonZoo
We ordered about 7 weeks ago, I Just got our build date of 12/4/18. Dealer expects a new year delivery. The only reason for us to wait this long is due to them honoring an X-Plan pricing and getting the colors and options we want. I guess two more months it is. Toddmoe
Sounds similar to our situation Gordonzoo, ordered a Black label in early August, I have a 12/4 build date. Went from a 2018 to a 19, but they are honoring 18 pricing.
