Ford Police Car Boycott

Recommended Posts

He has a lot of say in what is selected. He can narrowly tailer the specifications of the Request for Proposal so that Ford products would not be able to meet the specifications, such as requiring a V8 or something like that. They are supposed to accept the low bidder, unless they can articulate why it is justifiable to accept a higher bid as well, which isn't that difficult to do.

But now that he's made his intentions clear, it's a lot harder to hide behind moved goal posts .......

Bottom line is, Ford is a family owned corporation and the family is the face of the company while GM an FCA are simply faceless corporate conglomerates...The Ford family has been politically active since Henry built his first car. Agree or disagree with their political opinions - they still make a mighty fine automobile. (and truck and SUV.)

All for protesting if it's valid but the protest itself doesn't do diddly squat if you don't follow it up with actions.

Examples of invalid protests: protesting a police shooting of an armed criminal who refused to follow directions and pointed the gun at the officers - and similar cases.

What happens today is both sides overreact and attack each other via social media and nothing gets resolved. The only way to resolve things is to sit down together and discuss the actual issue and what can be done about it. Show the officers what it's like to be profiled. Show the protestors what it's like to be an officer and have to make a split second life and death decision. Come up with a non-partisan way to ensure justice is served when something bad happens.
