Hey ice-capades, how are they handling the build out on your end? Are they going to be channel stuffing or is it business as usual since volume is falling anyway?

Ford's trying to convince dealers to take all the Focus inventory they can get in order to carry over until the next generation model is available. Of course, dealers also carry the expense (floorplan) of doing so. We're only stocking a regular level of inventory and what we are taking, we're trying to stock mostly 1.0L EcoBoost SE's when possible.

I'm surprised the fleet bulletin hasn't been updated to reflect it, but the final day of production for the 2018 Focus is actually 5/3, not 4/27 as previously reported.

The FDNB listed it as 05/03/2018 for a long time and then changed it to 04/27/2018. When I first saw the date change, I assumed that Ford had pulled the Balance Out Date forward a week.

They May have, but weve had some parts shortages and a couple of breakdowns the last couple of weeks.

Hello,

I'm looking for a bit of advice. After driving my small subaru for 12 years so that we can put a couple of kids through college, I want something fun to drive. Picked the 18 Focus ST. The dealer didn't have the options I was looking for so I placed an order for an ST3, magnetic, upgraded wheels. Put my $500 down and was happy! That was April 24. Since then, I've learned a lot, and that Focus production has stopped a week ago. I ask my dealer how my order is going to be fulfilled now that the production has stopped, and he tells me to not worry, it's still being produced and you will get your car. he is getting perturbed with my questions. My order status is "unscheduled clean"

There are several cars 300 miles away on dealer lots away that fit my requirements. I'd like my dealer to either dealer trade, or release my $500 so that I can go get one before someone else does. Or, maybe Ford will fulfill my order with previously produced cars?

What would people recommend how I can proceed? Dealer code F74202

Thanks!

Your salesman flat out lied to you. He should have know that once May 3rd hit there would be no more production.

Either get the dealer to swap for one or see if they can find any in the inventory with the features you want. There will be no more production, the plant is being torn apart to make room for the Ranger.
