fuzzymoomoo
Not a 2 door. Good thing that won't be the only option.
MTP'er
So what's this about the plant manager being walked out on Tuesday?
fuzzymoomoo
Are they denying bathroom breaks across the whole plant or is it just door line?

thezip
Didn't hear anything about the plant manager issue. Who was denying bathroom breaks?

JT32
Looks like China has cancelled their big Cmax order. Wonder how that will effect us with layoffs, one shift or whatever.
Pinto'77
Rumors going around about a layoff week in May. Any truth to this one?

fuzzymoomoo
Unless they un-cancelled the one that was cancelled 2 months ago I haven't heard anything.
TrailGaiter
I'm hearing week of may 22nd and maybe 2 weeks in June, we shall see
Pioneer
The only down weeks on the dealer site for MAP are July 3rd and 10th. Summer shutdown.
fuzzymoomoo
Committeeman hasn't heard anything yet. As of now it's as Pioneer said, just summer shutdown.
thezip
No downtime til August at least is what my Rep told me. But still hearing the one shift by march of next year??
fuzzymoomoo
No downtime til August at least is what my Rep told me. But still hearing the one shift by march of next year?? that doesn't make any sense either. How the hell do they expect to build 4+ months worth of inventory in 2 months on 1 shift? wildosvt
Rumor is after May '18 there will be one shift.
fuzzymoomoo
Rumor is after May '18 there will be one shift. that (kinda) makes more sense, but I still think it's unlikely, what with having to build enough Rangers for dealer/customer orders AND build an inventory on top of that, plus the Bronco (as far as I know based on info from someone I know working on the project) is tentatively supposed to launch around a year after the Ranger, maybe less if the final designs are finished early. BigDeal
If 1 shift is true, would they offer high seniority voluntary layoffs until back to 2 shifts?
fuzzymoomoo
If 1 shift is true, would they offer high seniority voluntary layoffs until back to 2 shifts? I see no reason why they wouldn't, hasn't that become the de facto standard procedure?
wildosvt
One shift would be until the Bronco gets going. From what I have heard it wouldn't be a direct cut in half. Good luck being out for (over?) a year on a TLO. But this is a year away. So who knows what will happen from now until then...
MTP'er
You need to remember, 1988 was a big hiring year at the truck plant. 2018 will be 30 years for a lot of people that want to get out of here.
thezip
Let's hope enough decide to retire. I dont want to go to another plant if I don't have to. I would, however be more than happy to sit my ass at home for a few months.Lol!!
fuzzymoomoo
The only other plant I would want to go to is FRAP because of how close I live, otherwise yeah I hope I stay. Not very likely being dead last on the seniority list.
