2017 2.0L ecoboost question

Hello,

Does anyone know if the 2.0 rolling in fusions these days is the twin scroll redesign that edge got a year or two back ? I'm still waiting on my factory order, build date was 6.22 and its still not here so I can't check myself.

Remove the turbo and count the scrolls?

On the one hand, the power ratings match the Edge. OTOH the Edge clearly says Twin Scroll turbo and Fusion does not. And none of the online docs I could find reference a twin scroll turbo.

If I had to guess I'd say it does not have the twin scroll but I wouldn't put money on it.

I went to fordparts.com and looked up the turbos in both the Edge and Fusion and they have the same part number listed (6K682). This would seem to indicate that the fusion has the same turbo as the Edge. I looked up the 2.0 models.

(Edited- realized that I typed Escape instead of Edge)

Not necessarily !

Ford part numbers have a prefix-base-suffix. The only thing they show on fordparts.com is the base part number, which is the same for all vehicle across multiple years.

If you could go back to the SVO Mustang 2.3L from the 80s, the base part number would likely be 6K682. Almost all engine control modules are 12A650.
