F150 EB Hitting 1Million in Sales

1,000,000 seems like a nice, round number from which certain valid, statistical extrapolations may be drawn. First, it seems like the naysayers who said truck buyers would never go for a turbocharged V-6 underestimated the market. Second, does anyone know what the repair incidence (frequency and severity) is for the Ecoboosts relative to V-8s (either Ford's or other's)? I'm neither suggesting the EB engines are not robust nor that they are dead-on reliable, just wondering if anyone knows how the engines are fairing.

There was the carbon buildup issue on the early ones which if I'm not mistaken was mostly limited to the I-4 engines and i think has since been resolved but other than that I haven't heard of anything too major.

That would have been with the earlier Bosch engine management software

which I suspect caused carbon build up during cold start.

Once Ford started using its own programs, the engineers were able to gain

a lot more control over the combustion process.
