Haonan Zhang
Hey guys, I am new to this forum and are from Canada, greetings from your northern neighbours I ordered a mustang 2016 and have been waiting for it to arrive. At the same time I am planning to pay US a visit during the summer for some roadtrip in the west coast. Anyone have some place they would recommend? Thanks
mrblanche
Go down the Pacific Coast Highway. As a trucker, I've been just about everywhere, so I can tell you great roads almost anywhere. Personally, someday, I want to completely circle the US on the roads closest to the borders or coasts.
sullynd
On PCH you want to go north to south, right? (If going one way)
mrblanche
Well, if you go directly from where you are, yeah, you'll be going south, and that works just fine. But you could go somewhere else and then return home going north. Lots of interesting sights along that highway.
bolt in blue
I will second the PCH - just expect it to take a long time to drive. There's so many beautiful spots, especially the section south of San Francisco near Monterey that I stopped every few turns to enjoy the view. Plan to spend at least a couple of days in San Francisco - one of my favorite cities.
mrblanche
I actually found the highway north of the Oregon border some of my favorite parts.
escapeman
Wife and I did the PCH trip from LA to SAN FRAN three years ago , never had a better time with all the sights, stopping along the way at Big Sur was great , saw tons of seas Lions. 17 Mile drive we saw 2 deer just chewing on a green at Pebble Beach we stopped and watched them for almost 15 minutes , they saw us and could not care less. We took 4 days to do this trip and enjoyed almost every hour of the drive. Planning on doing it again this June.
libertas
PCH is one of the great west coast drives. You won't be sorry. Southbound is better. because of the water views from the vistas. Harder to access the vistas when headed northbound.
