buddysystem
There's one photo of the interior on the GT350 forum with an ~8250 rpm redline shown on the tach..... http://fordshelbygt350forum.com/gallery/image/208-2016-shelby-gt350-unveil-in-la-california/ Still no photos of the engine bay yet. Anthony
Here's what I think about this... Ford finally has an analogue to the Challenger SRT. Bah. Challenger wouldn't make it past the turn one in comparison to this. Unless the track is 1,320 feet in one direction, it's an Apples and Tangerines comparison really. Dave-S
Since the Shelby GT350 appears to be an "in-house" car, where does that leave Shelby American? Didn't they produce all the previous Shelbys?

Dave-S
Sorry but I am just not that familiar what role Shelby American has played over the last several years regarding cars with the Shelby name on Mustangs.
akirby
Ford produced the Shelby GT500s in house from 2007 until now. Carroll Shelby supposedly had some input into the first gen models but they were done by SVT. Shelby American also offered various mustang versions based on modified stock mustangs but those were not the factory GT500s.
Dave-S
I knew the stock GT500 was produced in house but I assumed that all the rest of the Shelby cars sold by dealers were ones modified by Shelby American ???? Besides the GT350 will there be still be other Shelby American modified Mustangs carrying the Shelby name that Ford dealerships will carry? akirby
I'm sure they will but those are the same as Roush or Saleen Mustags sold by Ford dealers. Those are really outside of Ford's purview.
akirby
Just to clarify - the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 are Ford SVT in-house vehicles produced and sold by Ford. Shelby American, Roush, Steeda, Saleen, etc. also buy mustangs from Ford, modify them and resell them through various Ford dealers (and/or directly to the public). Shelby American sells a Shelby GT, Supersnake, 1000 and GTS but they don't sell a GT500 or GT350. Only Ford.

30 OTT 6
The 5.2L looks pretty much like a 5.0L Coyote. It's been confirmed (by Ford Eng. Jamal Hameedi) that the 5.2L is not direct injected, doesn't have a dry sump, and the displacement bump comes soley from increase in bore. By the looks of it, the intake manifold looks similar to the stock version with a cold air setup. Maybe the charge motion butterfly's on the intake runners has been removed for better breathing? This was a common mod on the 4.6L 3V and the older 96-98 Cobra 4.6L 4V. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=16328&d=1416267997
03 LS
Current Gen GT350 were done by Shelby American - Ford sent them Mustang GT and they did the mod. They were sold for more than GT500 list price, IIRC.

But then again they had his signature on the right hand side of the dash, so apparently everything was justified.
