FordBuyer
I believe GM has stated that it estimates Volt sales at 2,500 for month and Cadillac XTS sales of 2,000. There's that magical 2,000 monthly sales figure again that Lincoln can't seem to mount with the majority of its lineup save MKZ. :beatdeadhorse:
PREMiERdrum
From the AP: Customers likely found good deals on 2012 models last month, especially for leases and pickup trucks. Chrysler is offering $4,289 in discounts on the Ram 1500, Edmunds said. Also, Honda raised its incentives 27 percent in August from July to an average of $1,666 per vehicle. FordBuyer
GM is saying that Chevy passenger vehicle sales are up 25% for August with Volt, Cruze, Sonic, and Spark enjoying record August sales. Of course Sonic and Spark were not in existence last August. Seems Dodge Dart sales are on very light side considering vehicle has been out for a few months and ramp up must be close to healthy. Per the press release, still ramping up: ...the all-new Dodge Dart compact sedan soared 294 percent in its third month of sales. As Dart production continues to ramp up in the Belvidere, Ill. assembly plant, a full, multifaceted marketing campaign will launch this month... mackinaw
........Seems Dodge Dart sales are on very light side considering vehicle has been out for a few months and ramp up must be close to healthy. The Dart's not doing too badly. There's only 7,000 in inventory and the average stay at a Dodge dealer is 8 days (these facts from Auto News). PREMiERdrum
Ford looking good... 4k Fiesta, 19k Focus, 21k Fusion 28k Escape, 13k Explorer, 58k F-Series. MKZ up 42% and MKX up 27%, MKS and Flex MCE's aren't moving the needle.
NickF1011
MKS and Flex MCE's aren't moving the needle. Did anyone really expect them to? They were incrementally improved, but not vastly in either case. And is it too soon to start rubbing the new Escape's success in certain people's faces? :P Edited September 4, 2012 by NickF1011

Also, Ford delivered just under a combined 2,000 PI and PI Utes last Month, looks like PDs are coming on board.. PREMiERdrum
Such a month-to-month jump for Cruze... fleet orders?
BORG
Good to see they were able to move so many of the new Escapes so quickly, typically Ford struggles with inventory at launch. Maybe there won't be that nasty market-share plunge afterall.
Harley Lover
Such a month-to-month jump for Cruze... fleet orders? Or maybe no sweetheart deals for the Malibu, so the buyers jumped to the Cruze (lower price)?
BORG
Does anybody know if the MKT Town Car is being sold now, and if so would it appear on the charts as "Town Car" or "MKT Town Car"? Edited September 4, 2012 by BORG
PREMiERdrum
Or maybe no sweetheart deals for the Malibu, so the buyers jumped to the Cruze (lower price)? At least locally, there are plenty of sweetheart deals on 2012 Malibus. A coworker just got a 2012 LTZ for $16k after rebates and GM card top off. NickF1011
Does anybody know if the MKT Town Car is being sold now, and if so would it appear on the charts as "Town Car" or "MKT Town Car"? Don't know if they'll be separated. It's not quite the same distinction as there is between something like the Taurus and PI.

FordBuyer
No matter how you spin it, Ford had a great August, 2012 selling new vehicles. I imagine incentives were up there, but Ford seems to be maintaining discipline with incentives and what a great month for Ford. Ford also stated 4th quarter production going up 50,000 vehicles. I would imagine there must have been more left over 2012 Escapes than noted, but still the new 2013 is all over the public roads here in Metro Detroit. For that matter, I see 2-3 2013 Fusions on road around here and 2013 Fusion sales should explode. Ford can't add more Fusion production at AAI fast enough IMO. That is one beautiful car. Hate to say it, and I do like the new MKZ, but the Fusion is so nice not interested in the MKZ at all with that price premium. I could do without retractable roof and push button trans. CCD suspension is nice, but again the 2013 Fusion is gorgeous and so premium looking without the premium sticker price. 2013 Fusion makes the Sonata and Optima look dated. 630land
For 2008, the redone Escape was supposed to 'bomb' since it had same bodyshell. This new one was 'supposed to bomb' since it doesn't look 'truck-like anymore'. Which is more wrong?
NickF1011
For 2008, the redone Escape was supposed to 'bomb' since it had same bodyshell. This new one was 'supposed to bomb' since it doesn't look 'truck-like anymore'. Which is more wrong? They were both obviously wrong. But I would say the 2013 was certainly considered a bigger risk by some.
