GM is saying that Chevy passenger vehicle sales are up 25% for August with Volt, Cruze, Sonic, and Spark enjoying record August sales. Of course Sonic and Spark were not in existence last August. Seems Dodge Dart sales are on very light side considering vehicle has been out for a few months and ramp up must be close to healthy.

Per the press release, still ramping up:

...the all-new Dodge Dart compact sedan soared 294 percent in its third month of sales. As Dart production continues to ramp up in the Belvidere, Ill. assembly plant, a full, multifaceted marketing campaign will launch this month...

The Dart's not doing too badly. There's only 7,000 in inventory and the average stay at a Dodge dealer is 8 days (these facts from Auto News).

I believe GM has stated that it estimates Volt sales at 2,500 for month and Cadillac XTS sales of 2,000. There's that magical 2,000 monthly sales figure again that Lincoln can't seem to mount with the majority of its lineup save MKZ. :beatdeadhorse:

MKZ 3,327

MKX 2,518

Once then new MKZ rolls in, those sales could go even higher..

58,000 F Truck...Oh-My-God...

with news like that who really gives a rats about Lincoln's sales..

Makes me also wonder how Silverado and GMC Trucks did.

Did anyone really expect them to? They were incrementally improved, but not vastly in either case.

And is it too soon to start rubbing the new Escape's success in certain people's faces? :P

A healthy portion of crow and suitable condiments is now ready to be served....girl's car indeed.

You watch that baby take off when incentives and attractive leasing starts, ford will be selling them night and day..

Also, Ford delivered just under a combined 2,000 PI and PI Utes last Month, looks like PDs are coming on board..

Regal (2000) needs to go away or become a Cadillac,LOL

Caprice 731

Impala 17,066

Camaro 6,675

Mustang 6,387 - Only just pipped

Ford 197,249 sales

GM 240,520 sales.

No matter how you spin it, Ford had a great August, 2012 selling new vehicles. I imagine incentives were up there, but Ford seems to be maintaining discipline with incentives and what a great month for Ford. Ford also stated 4th quarter production going up 50,000 vehicles. I would imagine there must have been more left over 2012 Escapes than noted, but still the new 2013 is all over the public roads here in Metro Detroit. For that matter, I see 2-3 2013 Fusions on road around here and 2013 Fusion sales should explode. Ford can't add more Fusion production at AAI fast enough IMO. That is one beautiful car. Hate to say it, and I do like the new MKZ, but the Fusion is so nice not interested in the MKZ at all with that price premium. I could do without retractable roof and push button trans. CCD suspension is nice, but again the 2013 Fusion is gorgeous and so premium looking without the premium sticker price. 2013 Fusion makes the Sonata and Optima look dated.
