Master-Blaster
Has anybody considered integrating an aftermarket backup camera to the MyFord Touch system. Here is a website http://www.navtv.com/product/207/myfordtouch-cam.html?forceShowProduct=1 that makes a camera and interface module for MFT. Nothing listed for the 2013 Escape. Seeing how serveral people have reported issues with MFT, I not sure I want to do this especially if it voids any Ford warranties. Any thoughts? digijay
I'm also very curious to see if anyone has done this. I didn't want to pay $1300 for the whole park assist system when all I wanted was the camera.
Master-Blaster
Here is the response I got from the NAV/TV people: Thank you for your interest in our products. Our MyFordTouch-Cam module will easily let you add a rear camera to the 2013 Escape. We also offer a second module that will allow you to use the factory installed audio/video input and navigation (if equipped) in motion. http://navtv.com/product/207/myfordtouch-cam.html?forceShowProduct=1 The kit is $500.00 and that does not include the camera and of course installation. A liitle too pricy for me.

Stringfellow
Is there any documentation out there on how to disassemble the dash (2013 Escape) to gain access to the MFT screen? $500 is a bit steep but I am just researching the options and still need to figure out how I would gain access the screen. I don't want to be pulling on plastic dash pieces and breaking them.
Escapism
I am waiting for the Helms manual to be released 2/28. This $170.00 shop manual I am hoping will help us with taking things apart.
jcthorne
The Ford service manuals are available much cheaper than that used on Ebay. I just got the full set for all 2013 vehicles for $80. Real OEM Ford DVD and it works fine, Dated Jan 2013.
