I personally don't, and Won't buy anything but a Ford product, built in the USA, by UAW workers.. Just as my Motorcycles are built by an American UNIONIZED Company (Harley-Davisdon)...and while I do not agree with other Ford employees not supporting the company, its thier jobs on the line as well as mine. They will have to live with the simple fact that if we fail as a company...THEY are partially to blame. I hope it weighs heavy on thier minds.

 

They will also have to face the simple reality, that if we as a Union are destroyed, it is also partially thier fault by not purchasing Union built, AMERICAN Made products. We all must make our own choices. I prefer to at least try to protect my neighbor, co-worker, and my JOB! Others will have to live with thier choices.

So if we stop the sales of ALL foreign cars, then the Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Edge, Flex, Transit (variations of) & Crown Vic - (whats left of them) couldnt be sold under your proposal. I dont like Toyota-Honda-Hyundai either but politicians (both parties) are to blame for just about any industry failures in the United states by allowing the companies to leave here and manufacture overseas with cheap labor and NO COMMITMENT to the workforce!

First off, these are company owned parking lots not UAW. Therefore they have to right to search your vehicle or whatever else they please when they get ready becuase its their property. By the company making tons of money outside the states i dont think they will enforce such a stupid idea. Now locals and union halls are quite different. Furthermore everyone works their butt off for their money just like you so what on God's green earth gives you the idea that you can tell someone else how to spend their money? Folks can spend their money how and the hell they please! They worked for it not you!

I'm not so sure making a better product will do it considering how the government has sold the United States down the river with these messed up free trade agreements they signed in the name of fat campaign contributions. The only way to convince people to start buying AMERICAN is to level the playing field by applying the same tariffs on foreign products as they do to ours. Maybe then if the foreign products cost relatively the same amount, we can open businesses here and start producing goods like we used to. Then and only then will it be simply a matter of who makes the better product considering they cost around the same. Now having stated my opinion, the last thing I want to do is start a bitch fest on who (Dems or Rep) pushed these trade agreements through because to be honest, both parties are simply puppets to the highest bidder!

Bottom line is its not your damn parking lot! Its the company parking lot and they dont give a shit about the UAW! They send products to other countries to be built. If its the union hall or a UAW owned facility than thats different. SO until your working at a UAW owned factory than get over what someone parks at the COMPANY owned parking lot.

As for the comment about me throwing my computer and everything else away that is made outside the US that is a stupid comment because I don't work for those companies. I believe that if you work for Ford, then only Ford vehicles should be allowed to park in the lot, all other vehicles should have to part in a designated lot, and we should have our security guards manning the lots. If you have an American made car you go left, if you have a piece of crap you go right.

There's no such thing as a foreign car. The vehicles we build have just as much non-domestic content and in some cases MORE than the average Honda or Toyota. Also, we don't work for the UAW (well, some of the union suckasses might). The UAW is supposed to work for US...That means focusing on 3 things: Wages, Benefits, and Working conditions. The union shouldn't be worrying about what it's dues paying members decide to purchase with their own money. Let the union have whatever parking restrictions it wants on their property (that we and those who came before us paid for)..Nobody who works for a living is hanging out at the union hall anyway.

What bugs me is at DTP there are a bunch of people driving expensive non-ford vehicles with "handicap" stickers on them so they can park right up by the gate and dont have to bother walking the extra distance or leave their expensive car in the back of the lot.. how the fuck do you work in an assembly plant and have a handicap sticker, i've seen these people get out of their jaguars and lexus' and they look like something, but it isnt handicapped.

When I hired on, I supported Ford by buying a new Taurus. I will always support my employer. However, I disagree with you on some of your points.
