Fact check: The wealthy already pay more taxes

I'll help you pack. Got your passport ready? Might as well surrender your US citizenship because your Utopia will be so perfect, you'll never need to return. Right?

For me, I'd rather stick with the good ole US of A, to fix what you broke then walked away from.

I'm no boss. I was "OFFERING" a service to someone who would rather live in another country, where socialism is espoused to be working.

The offer was sincere and heartfelt. If you hate the country and/or think another country sets a better example, I'd be the last person to stand in your way there. Don't let the screen door hit you on your way out. But don't try to re-invent the US to some standard drawn from elsewhere. I think the fundamental concept of the United States of America are unmatched. Where I have a problem is the implementation and mis-handling of the government by those who aim to "fundamentally change" the country. And I'm not JUST talking about Obama, but he's just the latest puppet.

Why do you never have anything to say on any topic?

Just childish oneupmanship and attacks on the posters.

Why post when you have nothing to add to the discussion?

Personally I'd be happy to reinvent the US to a standard drawn from here, with the following qualifiers:

- My reference century is the 20th, not the 19th or 18th.

- I'd settle for anybody on the left to right spectrum between Roosevelt and Eisenhower

Those appear to be sticking points with some people.

Personal attacks will NO LONGER be tolerated. If you want to debate a topic, discuss it based on its merits. From this point forward, we're going to issue suspensions and than ban accounts to those who find it acceptable to attack others.

We may have to start a "Dead Pool" and take bets on who goes first.

I do have a passport, but I'm quite happy with where I live. Thank you for asking. I, btw, don't actually think that Scandinavia is socialist, but if you think the US is becoming socialist, I'm sure that you do. My only point was, despite the insistence of some to the contrary, the US model is not the only one that works. In some aspects, others even work better.

Please do not read this as an attack on anyone. Other than my passionate conviction that I believe the US is the closest thing to a perfect society the world has known. The failings of man have caused the shallow thinkers to believe the country is bad. I say the policies and corrupt legislators are the problem, not the country.

And I hold that the US may not be the only one that works, but it's the one we have here. I don't want it morphed into the model of another country. Keep the US the US. Those who like Scandinavia, or some other society, I support your right to relocate there. Just don't muck with what we got. Go make that other country the best it can be.

suv_guy_19, if I appeared to be attacking you, I regret that, I was responding to the impression you were advocating socialism with Scandinavia as an example. Your reply indicates you were making a statement on behalf of others, not for your self. If my comments were mis-aimed, you have my apologies.
