What happened to global warming?

Recommended Posts

I'm leaving all the lights on and letting the truck idle all day...after all I must hate the planet don't I, I don't believe in MMGW? I might as well really act like I'm supposed to according to the left wing environazi's.

I think I'll burn some old tires out back too.

Then dump used motor oil in the creek.

Then I'm going to spray pesticides everywhere in my yard and down the side of the road, maybe just let it drip out the back of the truck as I drive around all night......ohh, ohh, and take the cataletic converter off the car too!

Funny how the reducing pollution we've done since the 60's and in general being better stewards of our planet is totally overlooked by the eco zealots.

STP, I hate everything you stand for just because of the way you present your case. Probably a lot of things would be agreeable to both of us but your type really sours my view of you and your type. I have changed as have others with regards to tailpipe emissions and dumping used oil. Hell it pisses me off when I see garbage on the side of the road, I'd love to see cops lay a couple $500.00 or $1000.00 fines for people throwing shit out their windows when they drive...but your type wouldt be happy, you would want to regulate windows that don't roll down on cars as a solution...of course owners would have to pay the government 1000.00 per car to have it done.

Love the earth but hate the useless feel good bullshit that's spread by hypocrites and hollyweird types.

hmmm, you might want to consider switching to decaf. I think a lot of us are done with you "flat earth types" we believe in science, so go back up on your hill and wait for the second coming, as with HCR, Obama's judicial appointments etc. we will no longer wait on you guys, we will move ahead!

I get paid to teach snowboarding in the winter and rock climbing in the summer....

Snowboarding and rock climbing, huh? Your marijuana high must have worn off, because your narcissism is showing again.

This is nice.

Obama announces 15 recess appointments

Fed up with waiting, President Barack Obama announced Saturday he would bypass a vacationing Senate and name 15 people to key administration jobs, wielding for the first time the blunt political tool known as the recess appointment.

Don't forget to join in on earth hour, lights out tonight at 8:30 pm to bring awareness to global warming.shades.gif

Having people perform rituals is an important part of the indoctrination process. I leave my lights on, and even turn my back yard lights on during earth hour. I forgot my back yard lights this year. I was watching a movie on TV. I even left my back yard Christmas lights up for the occasion. Next year, for sure.

"We believe in science". That is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Science is not about belief. It is about proof and questioning that proof over and over again. If it stands the test of time, it becomes a theory. It is never believed. Belief is for religions. Religions close their eyes and ears to any proof that goes against their beliefs. That is what the environuts are all about. They will not consider the possibility that they may be wrong. There is no science there, just religion.

LMAO, man you sound like you're straight out of Orwell's 1984 novel.

There are a lot of scientists out there that support and believe in the notion that global warming or climate change or whatever you silly enviro-nazis are calling it now is caused by people. There are also a lot of scientists who are just as credible who have looked at the data and said it's all bunk. Whom do we believe? You surely don't know the answer. No one on this website does. We are all just picking sides. But guess what, every year it still gets cold in the winter, hot during the summer, the rain still falls and the lakes and rivers have not dried up and died. Why are you libs so eager to hand over more of your hard earned money to the government to fight a problem that may not even exist and if it does all the money in the world won't fix it? Why? We're stupid? LOL More than money, you are also willing to let the government dictate to you the what, when, where and how of how you will live your day to day life in order to make sure that you are not "offending" the earth. Again, all in the name of combating something that may not even be happening. Did you see all the snow that fell across the country this winter? Global warming? Really?

Here is the problem with all the "yes we can" "we will move ahead" rah rah BS. You don't even know where you're going. Some clown liberal comes up with some idea and pitches it to his base and all he / she has to say is catch phrases like "we are moving ahead" or "we are making progress" and you suckers line up for it. All they have to do is convince you that they are making a better, more understanding America where everyone is equal and everything is equal and life is fair and peace love dope blah blah blah. It's all a lie man. Life isn't fair, never has been, never will be. Your liberal overlords know this but they are never going to admit it because they need you suckers to keep them in power and that is what it's really all about, power. This utopian America that you liberals envision where everyone and everything is fair and just and equal and perfect, it's a fantasy. The truth is that liberalism leads to exactly the kind of society that you liberals are trying so hard to avoid. Take a look at how predominately liberals states conduct their affairs. Typically you have a governing body that spends most of it's time looking for new ways to control the population down the smallest degree all in the name of making things better. In California some liberal moron actually wanted to ban black cars under the stupid notion that black cars use more AC and therefore more gas. This is the kind of intrusive unwanted nonsense that liberals come up with. News flash genius, if it's above 80 degrees everyone rolls up their windows and uses their AC, black paint or not. Some liberal idiot in Santa Clara County, CA wants to ban toys in happy meals because he thinks it encourages kids to eat unhealthy food. As if the parents don't know that a happy meal isn't exactly the most nutrious food they could be giving their child. This again is the kind of silly intrusive nonsense that they come up with because they believe you are too stupid to take care of yourselves and raise you own kids.

Lets move up the coast to Seattle (liberal hotbed) where a public school sent a girl to get an abortion and told her that if she kept it from her family the aboriton would be free. So a fifteen year old girl has an abortion without her parents knowledge or consent and it's all legal because liberals in Seattle believe the state should be raising the kids and not the parents. This is the kind of mindset that is brought about by liberalism. If this country follows what liberals want and believe in what we will end up with is something worse than even George Orwell could imagine. All in the name of "progress" and "yes we can".

"Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress toward more pain." -- George Orwell

I guess fudging figures when they don't prove what you want and attempting to smear scientists who question a theory (which is all that manmade global warming is at this point) now constitute "science." Who knew?

If health care reform is any indication, you're moving ahead all right - over a cliff. To believe otherwise requires ignoring the gamed Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates and the fact that the CBO has a history of underestimating the long-term costs of federal health care programs by up to 500 percent.

Before lecturing us on what supposedly constitutes "science," it might be a good idea to first learn about recent history and basic mathematics.

Trim you need to learn what the definition of a theory is. Hint, it's not yours.

First you have an idea. If it stands up against initial scrutiny, it becomes a hypothesis. If the hypothesis is not disproven over a reasonable length of time, it becomes a theory. If the theory is in place for many, many years, and is seen to work well, it becomes a law. You cannot even believe in a scientific law, as Einstein proved with his theory of relativity.

I don't know how scientific views have changed since I graduated in the 1960s. The above is what I was taught. Maybe schools nowadays have allowed socialism and political leanings to seep into and taint the sanctity of scientific purity. Anyone who thinks that man-made global warming is a "theory" is way out of touch with what science is all about. It is at best a dumb idea; a long way from being a hypothesis. It is more along the lines of a religious belief after a lot of preaching, chanting, and performing of rituals.

The hierarchy of scientific reasoning is as follows: Idea....Hypothesis....Theory.....Law. Man-made global warming would be placed, by real scientists, about one quarter of the way between "Idea" and "Hypothesis". If someone were to undertake the tedious task of reading all of the dictionary definitions of the word "theory"; by the time they finished, they would have forgotten what the argument was about. A scientific theory is not just something you conjure up in your mind in an attempt to promote a political agenda by the prostitution of science. A scientific theory is something that takes years to develop. While in the hypothesis stage, it will be attacked on all fronts by renowned scientists. Their reputations are at stake if they sign off on something that later turns out to be bogus.

We've spent all this time building bridges when all we had to do was start putting up walls....

Or perhaps be like the French that replaced all fossil fuel power plant with Nukes

and then claimed they lead the world in emission reductions...
