I pay a shitload of taxes. Maybe I am partly responsible for the entitlement attitude which led to granting loans to people who did not qualify, because of my largess. If we did not pay so much tax, some people would have to get off their lazy asses and actually pull their own weight instead of looking for something for nothing from the people who are not lazy and work for a living. If I had my choice, I would help out my own family instead of a bunch of worthless ingrates. This is what I get for all of my generosity. I get ridiculed. Well you can shove your attitude, and anything else handy up your own ass.

I just quite smoking 5 days ago because of the taxes. Here in Houston, Cigarettes run $7.25 a pack these day. Over $5 of that $7.25 is taxes. Someone who smokes a pack a day pays over $1800 a year in taxes alone. I just can't justify that type of taxation anymore

On the otherhand, these withdrawals are killing me. :banghead:

I pay around 1/3 of my gross income in income tax alone. On top of that, there is gasoline tax, property tax, PST, GST, used tire tax, and other taxes too numerous to mention. I don't look at it as a percentage of what I earn. Why does the government think it has a right to a percentage of my money? I look at it as a dollar amount, and compare it with the dollar amount other people pay. If I have a good year, and make $110,000, I will pay a total of about $60,000 in taxes. Add that to the $30,000 or so my wife pays, and it is over $90,000. I am talking about all tax, not just income tax. Tax freedom day in Canada is June 14th. That is the average. Since I pay way more than the average on a percentage basis, tax freedom day for me is into July. I pay over half of what I earn to the government. The ones who vote for the socialists who impose these high taxes, are exempt, themselves. They pay sweet fuck all in taxes. The government also throws them a few crumbs out of the booty. That is why we are in this recession. The greedy government is taking too much. We need to have a civil war and get rid of the bastards.

you make more you pay more, but if you keep more the money you make on that is taxed at a far lower rate, at least in the states, i paid about 35-40% on wages, but only 11-16% on my investments, put your money to work for you!

What is the government doing with all that money? Money would do more good if people could just keep it and spend it. People who pay little or no tax, but are totally dependent on government are de-facto Communists. That number is approaching 50% of the population. If you add the people who are dependent on the government because they work for the government, we are there. All we need to do is put a hammer and sickle on the flag.
