those are nice .. they have the usual "concept drawing' exaggeration of proportions - makes the car looks more like a Focus than Fiesta ... but I believe they are getting slower ... seeing the mules starts giving you a sense of what Ford is going to offer ..

anyways -it will be in Frankfurt (supposed to be in Frankfurt ) if not, then Detroit.

That lowering grille opening looks awful. I like the overall look though. I wonder how the NA version will vary visually. The interior looks top notch for a B-car.

Damn...I think Ford is going to blow everyone away in the North American market on the shape alone with the new Fiesta when it comes out..

not too keen on the huge grill in the bumper (wonder if they can fit the tribar in it LOL) but overall its a very handsome car, and prob the best looking upcoming B car on the market...esp in NA

I'd like to see it with some real wheels, but otherwise, it looks great. Probably the angriest looking car for sale right now if those shapes make production. Fiesta ST? Anyone?

Give me an ST version with the 1.6 TF they're developing for Europe, and I will gladly pay in the Mini-range for it. I hope they don't try to dumb it down too much for the U.S. market. Not the looks, but the equipment/interior quality/suspension tuning. People are spending $16-17k out the door for their Fits right now, and this thing should blow the Fit away.

But we aren't getting a 3-door are we? Bummer.

At long last something exciting for Europe, about time to. Most of Europe’s motoring press are getting very excited about the new Fiesta. It has the potential to be sales king of Europe, l think Ford have got a real winner here, not that that there is much wrong with the current Fiesta other than its styling let it down a bit. Peugeots 207 top spot days in Europe look very short numbered now.

Top gear like its concept

Europe scores another win.

FOE.

It looks like it will hit the small French manufacturers sales right where hurts right between the nuts. Hope it does the same to the small Toyotas and Hondas in the States as well. It looks like it going to be the car to see, and car of the show at Frankfurt if it remains true to the concept.

I agree about the grille ... reminds me a bit of the Subaru Tribeca before its facelift.

I wonder how much of that interior would make it to the US on a B-Car. Electronic parking brake, "buttons on the console like those on a Motorola cell phone" ... it does look interesting. How would this thing impact Focus sales if it were sold here?

Anyone else think we might have a cult classic on our hands, ala Mini or Beetle?

This car will either sell well, or become a phenomenah, depending on how well Ford can market it. I'm also smelling a 2.5L Twin Force I4 jammed under the hood, big fat tires, and AWD. The Evo would never see it coming.

It's funny Ford of Europe seems to be back to some shapes, forms and surfacing that were not unlike the Mustang Mach III showcar of 1993.

I like the Iosis concept a lot but the new Mondeo only got the nose... The rest was sanitized.

The new Fiesta here has a grille too big and way out of scale. Some of the lines and forms I will have to get used to

but I do like the side window shapes. I am not as crazy about the melted instrument panel with the bulbous center stack.

The new Fiesta, next Focus and Mondeo are going to be very influential on domestic Ford designs.

If everyone takes a look at the Fusion and Milan it pretty much looks like a slightly bigger old Mondeo, especially in the side and rear profile and greenhouse/door shapes..

I like it, it has a Mazda CX-7 look to the front though.

I'm sure when it comes here, it'll carry the Escort name. Mullaly puts worth on names, and I believe the Escort name will carry more weight than Festiva did... Remember Aspire (Kia made)? Yikes...

It's FIESTA not Festiva.... And why does Ford need to change the name here when it has global recognition across the world just as it is.

they could probably call it anything they wanted too if the car is good enough, I have a gut feeling this will slot in where the focus is now and the focus will step upwards...actually that kinda makes sense since I veiw the 08 focus as a nasty little stopgap until we get the Euro version YEHAH!....they should have renamed the Focus to the Blurry

No, I meant FESTIVA. As in, the vehicle that later became Aspire. I know the one we are discussing is FIESTA.

Some additional details about this:

- Concept is called VERVE

- Roofline will be taller, and the headlights smaller in the production version

- FOE is thinking about dropping the Fiesta name in favor of something else.
