Some details came out on the new V8 going into the 2023 Corvette Z06. I didn't catch if this is based off the defunct Cadillac Blackwing V8 or another new engine. There's a bunch of drunken sailors working at GM product planning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q6p5vlAWEs

I have a ticking sound that appears to be quite pronounced and different than the prior postings i have read on this topic. I have attached a 10 second video where the ticking starts about 5 seconds into the video. File upload limits to only a 10 sec clip but this ticking lasted for about 25seconds and then stopped. If remained at idle it would start ticking again and then stops. It is a 2020 F-250 6.2L Gas engine with about 40k on it. This is a recent purchase as a used truck so I have not yet tried to correlate the sound if it does it only at idle or while driving under load as well. I can say the only time I notice it so far is when outside the truck while it is at idle and it comes and goes. Does anyone know if this is a normal sound or anyone hear this as well? It does seem like something is engaging/kicking when it starts.

Do we have confirmation on the engines and transmissions that will be used in the 2019 Focus? I assume it will have the 8 speed but you know what happens when you assume!

A few weeks ago, my 2011 Ford Fiesta encountered a rather hard (although nothing extreme) stop at an awkwardly positioned stop light. Seconds after the stop, the RPMs starting fluctuating up and down while idling and then the engine shut off. I restarted the car and drove without further issue, with the exception of the "Hill Assist" and "AdvanceTrac" lights illuminated on the instrument panel. My best guess was that the hard stop prompted an automatic shutoff of the engine, something programmed in case of accidents to possible fire. In the two weeks after this incident, I've encountered no repeats of the situation, although the previously light displays came on again. Then driving to work two days ago, the car stalled again at the stoplight after exiting the freeway, and then did the same thing on the way home (with the two lights displayed both times). The only two factors present all three times were idling at a stoplight after exiting a freeway and secondly, having under 50 miles worth of gas left (but had enough to know I did not run out of gas). Taking the car to the Ford dealership the first time revealed no information. It is now there for a second time and they have still yet to find anything. They have ran computer tests, spoken to Ford directly, test driven the car, etc. = nothing. Here are some items I had requested they consider: -O2 sensor -EGR valve -IAC (idle air control) -Throttle body -Clogged idle air passage -Catalytic converter -Fuel injection system -Airflow sensor -Fuel pressure regulator With the newness of the car, I'd be surprised if anything major was causing this. My best thought is that there is an electronic miscommunication between the drive assist features and the engine/idle control. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
