  1. Ever since I got my 2021 Ford Escape SE in February of this year it has made a loud moaning noise when going in reverse. It does it every morning and after it's sat for a few minutes. The dealership in Springfield Illinois says that they can't duplicate the issue. Yet the technician said he heard it and took apart the brakes and rotors wash them all down and scrub them and put it back together. This made the problem go away for half a day and it's now back again. The dealership refuses to look at it.
  2. Brakes were working fine the day before. Next day got in car and brake pedal went nearly to the floor with little resistance and very diminished braking. My mechanic tells me both rear calipers are retracting too far, so it take 2-3 pedal pumps to get the rear brakes to fully engage. Front brakes appear to be working fine, so most braking is being done by front. No warning lights or such. No prior brake problems or recent brake service has been done. Has anyone heard of or experienced this problem with the rear brake calipers on both sides consistently retracting too far? If so, what was the solution?
  3. Has anyone tried to replace brake pads on a 2013 Ford Fusion? I have a 2013 Ford Fusion 1.6 SE (17-inch wheels) and need to replace the the rear brake pads. Are there any special things I need to do in preparation for this procedure? Are the rear brake calipers for this vehicle dual piston or single piston? I am just trying to prepare for this brake job as it would be my first time ever doing a DIY brake job. Any information or experience feedback is greatly appreciated.
