  1. It is really so sad that a sharp guy otherwise would screw-up like that and he knew he would get the gate. Hackett is going work at "Draining the Swamp" There are those that are looking to find people like this, so they can blackmail them. Who is going to hire him? Not good for his future, we will see where this goes.
  2. Once you transferred to Chicago, that became your home plant, unless they are looking for volunteers. Considering south eastern Michigan, they have all the people they need.
  3. :)We use to have 200,000 in sales, and be the segment leader. Now that can happen again, just build it right and put the right power train in it. People want it for their 1 car garage. You will see, this is the new size, the new normal. I'm saving my money for this one. Build it Aluminum or build it steel, Ecoboost it, Diesel it, just build it the way people want, If you read the forums or blogs, people keep asking for it.
  4. When is the Blue Oval going to get it together with a smaller Pickup? Why don't we become the segment leader we were? A Ranger would fit in most people's garage better than a bigger than big F-150. We had it right once for a very long time, and then gave it up. What about One Ford? This company could do it right, people would buy a fuel efficient Ranger. Don't let the others lead, Go Ranger.
  5. Just rumors, everywhere else but here. Look at all the publicity the Ranger gets in the other places of the world, you would think Ford would get it. It was a small market at the end, but they killed it slowly by never really updating and adding anything new. It was a segment leader for many years. Let's face it, not everyone can fit an F series in the garage. People are always saying they wish Ford would bring the Ranger back, because of it's size. Think about eco-boost engine, and a small truck that would fit into a parking space. How did Ford ever lose it's way on this one and choose to give up a segment? If we are thinking One Ford concept for this company, bring it back with upgrades and watch it sell. Call it an F-100, just make it small, so it works in the single car garage. How about a all around truck for the average guy that doesn't have a lot of space, because his garage is loaded up?
  6. Instead of laying off 100 people permantly, and slowing the line speed down and making the jobs a 40 foot work space. We kept the relief system, gave everybody more downtime during the summer. In Minnesota, time outside is precious. The temps do not get sub pay, and the contract maintance people do not get sub pay either, saving the plant over $1M a week, making the plant more profitable. This keeps the plant open till at least 2011, and there are serious rumors about 2014. That is pretty good for a place that was really going to be closed first announced back in 2006. In the 25 years I've been here, I know there is an end to this place, but all who work here are happy it is staying open this long, even the temps, who have no ford future. Being #1 in quality doesn't mean we will survive, but at least we can hold our heads up high and say we gave it our best shot. The "traditional " ford employees took the money on their own accord, it was a gamble with the economy. I say don't show me the money, show me the job! We want jobs not severance money, how many of us are in our 40's or 50's and like manufacturing and take pride in out union and our job. Where else are you going to get a job that you don't have to work nights, weekends and holidays? The service jobs that are out there, don't pay a thing and the hours suck. Lets try to turn this thing around and care about the product we build so we have jobs for the future and a retirement.
  7. Hey, you guys are getting a new Plant Manager, Kirk Wertzel. He is a people guy, he helped us at TCAP to do some great things. Think out of the box and he will help you to win! Stonewall, and the box is your home.
  8. Why roll over and play dead? Humans have fought to the bitter end, even if they looked like it was the end. The Marines fought on Wake Island until the end, the Navy fought at Pearl Harbor, the Army fought at Little Big Horn. Find a place to fight, or fall on your own sword! John Paul Jones said, "I will never give up the ship, I have just begun to fight!" At least the Union has been working on this, I'm proud of our Union Leadership! At least the govenor is doing something! Do something, instead of whinning.
