Good to see that the Mustang will survive another year.

But "special edition" trim packages often signal a models "end of life"... Unless Ford comes up with substantially more later today, looks like they're giving up on the Mustang.

Mustang releases special edition trim packages all the time.  And they almost always do something for significant anniversaries. This (the anniversary package) doesn't mean anything other than one more thing to sell to enthusiasts.

Eh, that looks like a designer sketch/rendering (notice the signature in the bottom left), not necessarily a image of the final product.....the screens in that image look the same size as the connected one, so there'd really be no point to having two separate options - one connected, one not, with the same size screens anyway.

I think this was just a close to finalized rendering and they decided to make some small changes like connected screens and a more traditional "pull style" e-brake vs. the switch version also seen here next to the cupholders.

I have not looked any further, but I believe you are right. I may have jumped the gun on that (well, the person I copied it from that tweeted it jumped the gun perhaps ?)

  3. After watching the live reveal I actually like it.

I wish they didn’t let the massive screen dictate the design of the dashboard as it looks a bit generic now without the heritage cues.  But otherwise the overall design of the car seems like a decent reskin.

I think it will look better in person, much like pretty much every previous Mustang update.

  4. Update on this: I reached out to the dealership that had provided the service and they were able to email a record of the service performed on the vehicle at their dealership.

It had a new engine installed only 17k miles ago (don't need to worry about those damn 2 piece spark plugs lol). It also has a new alternator, starter, BCM, fuel pump, ignition coils, battery and blend door actuator within the last couple of years.

    Score!

  5. Hey all, I recently bought a used Sport Trac and believe it or not, the Ford Pass app let me add the vehicle even though it is 15 years old.. and it does in fact show the "generalized" service history (does not go into detail) going back to 2007. There's 40 records!

Is there a way to obtain the detailed service history of a vehicle?  Specifically I just want to know if it ever had the spark plugs changed (it is the infamous 4.6L 3V known for breaking spark plugs off in the head).  With its mileage, I'd like to change them if they are still originals.

Example of the basic info I'm seeing in the Ford Pass app:

    Thanks!

The changes are subtle enough between the 15 and 18 that a non Mustang / Ford fan boy would not really notice. My BMW / VW fan boy co workers are amazed when I can call out the year of Mustang on the street just by looking at the front or back end. That is the point of first post I made in this thread. If the changes are only front and back facia, even moderately dramatic, it won't be big deal to most of people. As I said a new grill and head / tail lights, "meh". New power trains like AWD and hybrid options for the ecoboost? Now you will have the attention of some people who have not considering buying a Mustang recently. The V8 hybrid is not so exciting as it really does not address MPG and is more about performance aspects of adding electric drive to front wheels making it a 50K plus car. I would rather have an ecoboost hybrid starting under 40K.

I'm a Ford fanboy and I couldn't pick either headlight design out of a lineup (then again, I have not owned a Mustang since the Fox body days). Just reading through this thread and seeing the pictures, I can see the differences in the designs, but can't remember which is what year unless someone tells me.  So while people may have their preferences, 95% of the public doesn't know the difference and won't hold whatever headlights you have against you.  ?

Its an easy enough job to do, but you might need to employ a sledge hammer if the hub is seized into the knuckle which is somewhat common. Once's you get the wheels and brakes off and the half shaft disconnected it's 3 bolts on the back of the knuckle.

Thanks fuzzy! That's what I've heard; not too hard but will involve the help of a large hammer.

Anthony, the 2007 Sport Trac Order Guide is still in the OG area, you could always look at it and see what content they added to make it a Limited.

    HRG

Thanks @HotRunrGuy I completely forgot about that.

Here are the additions that the Limited got over the XLT (oddly, I don't believe mine has a power sliding rear window, perhaps that was a late addition as it isn't listed on the window sticker either? It does have everything else).

  9. Well I bought it. What a cream puff, not even a door ding. Interior looks new and still has the factory Berber floor mats.

But, it is in desperate need of wheel bearings.

First thoughts is it is about 15% larger inside than my 2019 Ranger was. THIS is how big the Ranger interior should have been. Rear legroom and overall width seem a few inches larger. Very comfy!

  10. I recently sold my 2019 Ranger because I didn't use it very often (and it was worth a ridiculous amount of money in today's environment).  I'm looking to replace it with something much cheaper but in the same vein just so I have something to drive on the weekends and can fit some random stuff from Home Depot in the bed.

I came across a 2007 Sport Trac w/ the 4.6L. V8.  It has 107k miles and looks pretty clean and relatively promising (clean carfax, etc...).  Edit: I have not seen it in person yet.

Anything to look for on second gen Sport Tracs?  Avoid certain years or engines?  Are higher mileage examples something to avoid?

    Thanks much!

  11. So, I have been on permanent work from home for the past 2 years and have only put maybe 6-7k miles on my Ranger in that amount of time.  Rather than have that fat wad of cash sit in my driveway collecting dust, I decided to take advantage of the (slowly down turning) peak of inflated car prices and sell it.

The Ranger was going on 4 years old.  I paid around $38k for it in January of 2019 and it had a total of 32k miles on it.  CarMax gave me $33k (Carvana offered a little less).  So for $5k, I got an awesome new truck for almost 4 years.

The wife (who also works from home) and I will share her Edge for a while until car prices come down to a somewhat reasonable level, (even if it takes a while unless I come across a good deal).  Then I'll buy a used something or other for my little jaunts to Home Depot (the only thing I really used my Ranger for in the past couple of years). I really don't have much use for an extra vehicle (let alone a new one) right now.

The Ranger was a 9/10.  Out of the 40+ vehicles I've owned, it was definitely in the top 5.
