  1. I’ve bought warranties from Flood for my past three Fords. On my Focus they probably paid into it more then it was worth. It’s an official Ford service plan so it didn’t matter where you buy it from.
  2. Well, safe to say Ford has continued their excellent history of flawless launches! Hope this gets resolved for everyone. Man, what a clusterf**k.
  3. Holy hell that thing is awful! It’s an F-25Ec0sport
  4. Between Bronco tops and chips and who knows what else, I would not want a dealership doing final assembly on my vehicles (yes, I know it isn't final assembly, I am trying to be dramatic!).
  5. I wouldn’t trust the dealer service department to do this. No way, no how. You want quality issues on top of delays? Bad idea.
  6. I called Ford Credit and they took the charge off for the "missing key" with no hassle. I paid the balance for the disposition while on the call, so this is done, done and done.
  7. Standard practice does not equate with my dealerships. I turned in two keys and they marked it as only returning one and now I’m being charged for it. Luckily I have the email from the dealer general manager that it was returned with two keys. But once again I have to do the legwork to resolve their issues. It is truly pathetic.
  8. Timing could not have been better for you. That’s great.
  9. I retract my prior retraction. My Ford dealership experiences are like a friggin' Greek tragedy. Guess who just got their final lease bill that includes a fee for a missing key? I just don't understand how incompetent these people are and still have jobs, let alone return customers.
  10. Thanks @akirby. So the questions is, what changed in the design that makes the top pieces easier to manufacture?
  11. I've had a few MAP products and they have all been flawless in build (not necessarily architectural) quality. MAP will always be may #1! It has been said that new tooling was being produced for the top? If there was not an inherent design flaw, why is new tooling needed? Unless the tooling at Webasto was defective in the first place which is causing these issues...if not, what is the difference in the new vs the old tooling which in turn begs the questions, what is different in the new tops?
  12. Ouch. That sucks and really puts a damper on one of the most important launches in a decade. Reminds me of the Focus debacle (great car, shitty transmission…which Ford knew about beforehand). It makes you wonder how much Ford hand-waved to get production going and figure out later. I hope you guys who either have their Broncos or are waiting on one that it all works out for you in the end.
  13. I will retract my previous comment. I actually got a resolution! After I emailed a second time this morning, the dealership manager wrote back and said he miscommunicated and there are in fact two keys with the vehicle.
  14. In this area? Three. Each has been worse than the next. Service and support are well below par, but the sales portion is golden. I also need to note that I am a very polite and non-confrontation person. I'm not the type of person who tries to turn everything into a fight or always wants to speak with a manager and always try to give the benefit of the doubt. But I am persistent. I can imagine how they are with people who just roll over and accept the poor service. This proves my point. On what planet is it considered normal to take a photo of me handing a set of keys to dealer? You obviously think there's an issue too if you think this is a necessity. Thank you. I wish this were the case around here. I'm not sure if it is because domestic vehicles in my area are the minority and dealers have a harder time attracting talent or just people who care, but they just don't want to put any relationship effort into anything except the sale. It seems Ford and other domestic dealerships are the training grounds for employees to move into other brands as I never seem to see the same person twice.
  15. Bumping this up as this will be my last Ford dealership experience. I'll buy used if I want a Ford from now on or direct from the manufacturer if they ever begin allowing that. I returned my wife's Edge lease on Tuesday. I gave the salesman the keys, and he took the license plates off. He said the computers were down, they would ground the lease after they came back up. I emailed the dealership manager this morning to verify the lease was grounded, and he promptly replied that it was successfully grounded but mentioned they only received one key and I would be billed for it. The two keys were on one keyring that I gave them. They either somehow lost one of the keys I gave them or entered it into the system incorrectly. I emailed him back to please verify the vehicle has two keys because that's what I gave them...of course, no reply all day. I'm done. The incompetence and indifference have done their damage, and I won't be dealing with Ford dealerships any longer.
  16. I imagine most every manufacturer's ATP is way up. Nobody is really putting deep discounts on their vehicles right now, they don't have to.
  17. Funny you mention this. When I went and returned a lease yesterday, they mentioned "the system was down" to ground the lease and they would do it as soon as it came back up. I figured it was just BS and they didn't feel like doing it then and there, but who knows?
  18. Thanks, I had looked into that and the difference was a couple thousand, but I need the driveway room more than the money at the moment. I turned it in this morning.
  19. I've already paid off my lease via Ford Credit. I've already had the third party inspection. I called the dealer today and advised the above and they said if I'm not buying it out all I need to do is come up to the dealership and drop off the keys. Is this accurate (I've never leased before so don't know)? There's no paperwork involved in returning it or anything? The lady on the phone said no appointment or anything was necessary just to come and drop off the keys. Thanks!
  20. You may have loosened a connector or something when you hit the chuckhole. I agree, bring it in and have the connectors all looked at and make sure there was no damage. I've had my Ranger for 2.5 years and no issues, they are really good, reliable trucks.
  21. Sorry this is happening to you bud. I know you are generally a positive person and I hope that it doesn't take away too much from the enjoyment of your new ride. Hope it gets resolved for you once they get their act together.
