  1. To be fair, its just ramping up. Last months most dealers didn't have that many yet. It only began production the end of July/beginning of August. Just to keep thing in perspective.
  2. Nothing too impressive here except the fleet being down. Ram is quite the story not losing any sales though.
  3. That I can agree with...I thought you meant it was a question mark if it was going to be produced or not. Hey, I never said it was an amazing refresh. But, in their defense, its still selling good. Why re-style something that is selling mostly based on the way it looks? For the sake of saying its re-styled? Continuous tweaks until the next version comes out. I can say the auto show circuit will be quite interesting in a little over a year.
  4. LX cars have sold in the range of 21K - 25K a month range since mid 2005 when the Charger was released. Prior to that it was around 17K -18K per month. There were a few months THIS year where it sold over 27K units. Magnum does not have the numbers, but the Charger and 300 have more then made up for it. They are still selling fine. Huh? The 2008 300 and Magnum refreshes were already released and currently for sale. Charger is next MY (since it was released one MY later then Mag & 300). 300 refresh was somewhat minor...new interior and minor fascia styling and a new decklid. Magnum was more substantial with an all new front end and interior.
  5. Well, you might as well include the Impressive: Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan As expected, these replacements for the Taurus and Sable are practical and roomy. But we were unexpectedly impressed with their nimble handling and comfortable ride, which make them feel more like expensive European cars. Unlike many new cars in their first year, their reliability has been excellent. Hyundai Santa Fe With much better ride and handling than its predecessor, the new Santa Fe might be the best Hyundai we've tested. It also has a smooth powertrain, quiet interior, and impressive fit and finish, giving it a No. 2 ranking among small SUVs, behind the Toyota RAV4 V6. Infiniti G35 With its 2007 update, the G35 has been transformed into a very capable sports sedan. Quick and agile, with well-balanced handling and a controlled ride, it is a joy to drive. Handling, interior fit and finish, and controls are all markedly improved over the previous model. Hyundai Entourage/Kia Sedona The redesigned Sedona and new Entourage—minivan twins—are a big improvement over the small, clumsy, and fuel-thirsty first-generation Sedona. They are quiet, roomy, comfortable, and powerful, and offer a wide array of features at a competitive price.
  6. My bad, you must have a late-build 2006 with the NAG1 5-speed, the earlier 2006's came with the 42RLE 4 speed across the 3.5L spectrum (minus AWD). I was posting before thinking and caught in a time-warp (it happens every so often ).
  7. Remember, this is built on a modified LX platform which does not currently offer the 4.0L. Not sure if the cost of getting the 4.0L in there was enough to offset just waiting a couple years till the next gen platform. The 5-speed with V6's is currently only available on AWD models. Otherwise, the V6's (2.7L and 3.5L) have the 4-speed currently.
  8. I don't think anyone will be buying a Challenger V6 to go out prowling for Mustang V6's or vice versa. That's not why someone buys a V6 ponycar...
  9. From resident Mopar insider oh2o on Allpar:
  10. Reading the articles regarding this recall is that the optional all-weather floor mats are being laid on top of the stock floor mats. There is a hook, but the hook can only hold one floor mat. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...ESS01/709270427 So, the recall will involve the following steps: 1) Pick up all-weather floor mat 2) Remove stock floor mat from underneath 3) Hook all-weather floor mat to hook. Could you imagine waiting in the service aisle for this?
  11. I went to Dallas this past week on business and needed to rent a car for three days. When I got to Hertz at DFW, they had a ton of the new Tauri (and a GT-H as well...beautiful car). When I got up to the counter and gave my reservation info, the gentleman asked if I minded having a Taurus. I said "No problem!". I was finally going to be able to drive one of these! Figures, I got a last-gen Taurus. Nice and solid...but a bit mushy in the ride. Oh well, maybe next trip.
  12. Not only that... its a NEW vehicle. Optimum mileage is not going to be retrieved on a brand spanking new vehicle.
  13. I had to head over to one of the GSA offices at LaGuardia today. There's an Avis/Hertz right next to the GSA offices (Right by the Marine Air Terminal). They have alot of new Tauri. Not meant as a dig to the new Taurus...I've only seen one on the road prior to this.
  14. In the long run, it would probably be a lot cheaper then designing tons of switchgear, radios and HVAC systems. Have a the same basic OS for all cars and different "skins" for each model. I could see this becoming reality much sooner then most of us think.
  15. In person, the new S-Class is quite a sight. It is pretty impressive looking, especially black. They do not photograph well though. I see quite a few every day. The richies around here are eating them up. They most definitely have presence. When I first saw pictures of them, I thought they looked horrible, then I saw one in person and changed my mind.
  16. I hate to say, that would be great in a Crown Vic. What's with I-Drive looking thing?
  17. Liberty is unit body as well. But the two vehicles are hardly comparable.
  18. The article, like most not very good researched articles...has lots of glaring inaccuracies. I just didn't have time to post them last night when I threw it up here. They are nowhere near in size nor price...not sure where they got this from (Caliber bases at $14K, Nitro starts @ $20K). Though, I do see a substantial refresh for the Nitro sooner rather then later because it is a bit odd looking up front. Truly bad research here. The Liberty which is on its way to dealer lots is a year newer then the Patriot. The Patriot is selling decently, but the current model Liberty, as long in tooth as it is...sells much better. As bad a job as they did, the rest probably is not too far off.
  19. Can Chrysler Turn Itself Around? Which models Chrysler is likely to kill Link to full story at MSNBC
  20. I have yet to see a Taurus/X commercial, but I've been seeing the Sable commercial incessantly (where it is created organically or something)
  21. C'mon already. I tried reading the thread about the Mazda 6 and its 3 or 4 pages of the RJ and pscario show. Now this one? If he's a troll, then just ignore him or ban him. Enough already.
  22. LOVE the wagon. If they don't bring that to the US, I will be disappointed. 2nd fav is the 5 door. The sedan is nice as well, but I like the rear styling of the 5 door better. Great job Mazda!
  23. I hate to say, I saw an Enclave on the parkway yesterday and was incredibly impressed. It is one really good looking vehicle. Lots of presence and unique looking. Can't say anything for the interior or driving dynamics because I haven't sat in or driven one, but Buick seems to have hit the sweet spot on the styling (at least in my opinion).
