  1. Check out just about 90% of threads in the Competition forum.
  2. Well, there's certainly been enough complaining around here for this. Question is...are you going to regret what you wished for?
  3. Limited slip available this summer for '09 MY. (Only the small limited run '08's do not have limited slip.) So, yes. You can get a 6-speed with limited slip rear....in a matter of months.
  4. I loved that game. Great commercial.
  5. Not horrible in parts, but as a whole....not feelin' it. I hate the Ford Contour pucker grille. I do like the headlights and taillights.
  6. Those are not production headlights. Trailer hitch is to tow monitoring equipment.
  7. Amazingly stupid to rate the Wrangler like they did based on their reasoning...... Duh.....its a freaking Wrangler...not an RX350. It rides like crap because nothing else on the market has the offroad capability it does.........yet off-road ability does not factor into the testing. So they are using the same methodology they use on any other "SUV" as they do on the Wrangler. Most other Jeep owners do stay on the pavement, but a high percentage of Wrangler owners do utilize the offroad ability of their vehicles. This is what happens when common sense gets thrown out the window to try and group unlike vehicles together.
  8. I agree it is silly catering to people who do not wear seatbelts....but for some odd reason, is a requirement by the NHTSA (why make a car safer for unbelted passengers...for all we know this may make the force of the deployment worse for belted passengers now): Could you imagine sitting in a seat in the full forward position even with a belt on and getting thwacked by an airbag? I sure wouldn't want to.
  9. If it helps at all, I saw it going South on Central Park Ave in Scarsdale / Yonkers NY today mid afternoon. Edit...found this online...looks to be the same car:
  10. Had to whip out my horribly old camera phone to get this one on film. Looks like the upper half of an old Taurus (not quite sure)? As bad as the pics make it out to be, looks like it was done very well in person...almost factory if it wasn't for the slighty narrower upper half. See attached pics. (Note: Bad resolution and freaked out driver tried to slow to down to practically zero to escape my picture taking... so no frontal shots, but it had the 95-97 front end)
  11. Some more info (albeit a bit outdated) from Allpar on the Phoenix program: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/phoenix-engines.html
  12. No. Just as bad, if not worse. But there's and entire dictionary full of words. I really like the vehicle (Flex), but the name makes me cringe.
  13. Nice to know the Ford heads agree that Flex really is a dumb name.
  14. Yup, a very popular mod is for Mag owners to put the 300 font clip on since all the body lines match up (a la EU Touring model). The Charger body lines are completely different, but that has not stopped a few eager Mag owners to graft the Charger front end on their cars as well.
  15. Everything I've heard from the inside has pointed to MY '10. BUT, things at Chrysler change daily as of late. The article surprised me, because as of this week, I've been hearing '10. I'm not going to pretend that any plans at Chrysler are set in stone on much anything as of late. Even so, a MY '11 is a 5 and 6 year model cycle. I believe Honda indicated they are on 5 year cycles now. So, I don't believe they are "going to give the Panthers a run for their money in staleness". Even with fleet sales down, the LX's combined sales have been comparable with sales for the past 3 years.
  16. Assuming this is MY 2010. The 300 was the first to come out....first month of sales was 4/04. Assuming the MY 2010 vehicle comes out in around the same time in '09. Its a five year model cycle. The Charger's first month of sales were May '05. A 4 year model cycle (if released in the same time frame as stated earlier) 4 and 5 year model cycles are standard. Sure the MCE was mostly interior based, but granted....you guys act like the LX has been out for decades (harumph). Also, since they are speaking of different greenhouses and completely styling...."refresh" or "face lift" is a bit of a misnomer. This is the "next gen" 300 and will be on a modified LX platform named "LY". No different then the next gen Taurus being on a modified version of its current platform in MY '10.
  17. Well, in all reality, some older folks don't like the swoopy exterior styling and dash of the Civic and probably want something a bit more staid. That being said, my 74 year old father-in-law drives a new 4 door Civic.
  18. I believe you were talking about this reference where it looks they were provoking understeer & oversteer (ie...darting the wheel back and forth and slip-sliding to produce the aforementioned). Looks they were trying to find the characteristics and limits. The "sudden transitions" were not characteristics of the car's handling, but of their testing. Though, I agree it could have been worded much better.
  19. I thought that was interesting as well. Though if it has less then the 300C as stated (which has pretty much none)...I'm not sure what they are getting at.

  21. Hmmmm..the Autoblog article at the beginning of this thread states a 13.9 1/4 mile time. At the live reveal, Jim Press states 13.3. (which is 1/10th quicker then the manufacturer claims on other SRT8 LX models...which are mostly faster in the real world) http://72.32.208.177/webcast/tvs/chrysler/...o/chicago_1.htm (about 5 and a half minutes in) Like I said earlier, don't believe everything you read. I have a feeling this thing is going to be quicker then most think. If it is like other SRT8 LX's...stock will dip into the 12's.
  22. Hey...as long as the cat is happy...she's all yours! (I'll be here 'til Thursday! Tip your waitstaff!)
  23. Again, someone who spent money uneccesarily.
