  1. Another review I watched (TFL car, I think) mentions that when the car is in pure EV mode, it's rather slow. I don't know all the mechanics of this particular hybrid setup, but I was rather naively hoping that even though the range is short, it would be still fun to drive. However, if it really is slow ( the reviewer mentioned slow acceleration from 40mph), I don't really see the point of having that EV only mode at all. To be fair, it seems that Porsche Cayenne is not super fast in EV mode either. Go figure
  2. I think this is a very well written and fair-sounding review. Fuel Economy section gave me info I couldn't get from other reviews yet https://www.jdpower.com/cars/expert-reviews/2020-Lincoln-Aviator-Review?make=Lincoln&model=Aviator
  3. I see it now in the specs, 18 G tank for hybrid. Thanks for pointing that out. Now it does not sound too bad when you do the math
  4. Agreed! It's just I tend not to trust official EPA estimates. I recently read an article in Car and Driver called "Mallrats" ( I think only printed edition has it) where they compare Cayenne, X5, Q7 and GLE 450. One of the things they mentioned was "C/D observed MPG", which was about 13 mpgs for all four cars. That's nothing even close to their EPA numbers. Again, we don't know how C/D got their numbers and under what conditions, but still...
  5. True. It's just when you hear from several reviews in a row about those seats, it makes you think. But you are right, the most important things is to try it yourself
  6. I read 2 or 3 reviews on different web sites, and all are very complimentary, but don't really praise it as much as I would expect. I see a commonality here in regards to the 30-way power seats - seems like most reviews I read are not convinced in their comfort. I guess I will have to see for myself, but it's not very easy to figure out how comfortable the seats are on a test drive. That would be the deal breaker for me though, so I'm, waiting for more reviews. Consumer Reports also mentioned that they found Navigator seats not very comfortable, and sounds like Aviator seats are very similar to those of Navigator. I guess time will tell.
  7. Edmunds lists regular Aviator tank's size as 20.2 gallons. Do you think hybrid will get smaller tank. I guess my concern was that the screenshot was of a hybrid version, so I expected a better MPG. But I think it's just my wishful thinking :).
  8. Hmmm....295 mi on almost full tank. That comes to about 16 to 17 mpg overall? Or am I reading too much into this?
  9. Thanks for the MPG info. Sounds not too bad. 18 MPG in the city is pretty good!
  10. I'm waiting for official numbers on the range. I'm hoping it will be higher than 18 mi. Porsche Cayenne plugin has 27 mi and in general, 18 mi is just not very useful. Even for driving in-town during the day, where I live, I would easily hit 20 mi or more. I know that there is also a 100hp bump in power etc, but if Lincoln is providing plugin capability, it should be something usable, otherwise, why bother with buying chargers etc and pluggin the car in. I don't expect anything amazing, but for the price, I was hoping for more than 18 mi. There are a lot of other brands to choose from and convenience of having a decent range would move me away from BMW or Mercedes or even Lexus towards Lincoln. But if it's basically just a gimmick ( I suspect in real world driving 18 mi range would be more like 14 - just guessing), it may not be enough to attract buyers from other brands. I still like the looks of the car and looking forward to a test drive.
  11. Curious if you noticed what overall MPG do you have? Thanks, Alex
