    I was told by my mechanic to stay away from Ecoboost Explorers. Not sure if this is good advise.

    I have a 2008 with 157,000 miles and my transmission is slipping going from 1st to 2nd and into 5th. My Explorer has been babied and I love the car, but not worth paying any more for repairs.
