FYI, yesterday (April 9), the status on my order finally updated after three weeks in "Awaiting Shipment" to "In Transit," with a new EDD of April 30. Any news on yours?

Mine is finally set as In Transit! EDD is May 7!

  2. That's awesome man, congrats! I need to ask again but as of last Wednesday it was still "in production" unfortunately. Hopefully my next update will be better. Seems like they are pumping them out fairly quickly so here's hoping.

  3. Hey guys, I know I don't have a very big post count or anything but I was wondering if I could get any information about my Mustang order? VIN is 1FA6P8CF0K5152473. Thank you in advance!

Thanks, i'm available to go up and help, ha, ha!  But seriously, 5+ months to get a Mustangs is unexceptable!  OBTW Bullits are available all over the place, priorities i guess ?

I mean I've been waiting since July. First I got hit with the Magneride backorder and now the steering wheel thing. All things considered they've taken care of the situations relatively quickly but especially with the steering wheel shortage they had to get people working again, build the steering wheels and start shipping them from Mexico to Michigan, and then get them installed on 8000 vehicles which is no small feat. I'm not happy about the wait either but at the same time I'd rather it all be done right.

Mine also went to "In Production" on January 16, on the the Ford Vehicle Tracking site. It finally changed to "Awaiting Shipment" on March 18, and two days later assigned a new EDD of April 12. Some progress at last. Hope you're getting an update too!

Looks like yours is configured identical to mine except for the color. Also got some of the same aftermarket items as you did (waiting in boxes).

Nice, as far as I have seen from the retail tracking site I still don't have an estimated delivery yet unfortunately but hopefully soon. 8 months is a very long wait. Glad to see more are going out now at least, gives me hope. Can't wait to see if you post some pictures of yours!

Things are looking up on the steering wheel front!  My car, waiting for a wheel since 2/18, was is now showing as "Released for Shipment" on 3/16.  Steering Wheel Purgatory does have an end !

That's fantastic man! I'll have to go check my status now to see if I'm so lucky.

It's good for a few laughs if nothing else.  My wife was telling it to our mechanic when she was in his shop a few weeks ago, and he was just dumbfounded.  Then there was this conversation I had with my salesman yesterday after he called Ford after realizing we were 2 weeks past the latest delivery date that he had been told:

    • SM: "Hey, how are you doing?"
    • Me: "Living the dream. And yourself?"
    • SM: "Me too. Hey, we saw your car was well past the estimated delivery date, and called Ford to find out why. You won't believe this."
    • Me: "What, that it's sitting in a parking lot at Flat Rock without a steering wheel?"
    • SM: "You knew?"
    • Me: "Yeah. Came off the line on 2/18 and has been parked for a month."
    • SM: "Um, yeah. Seems there was a part supply issue"
    • Me: "Yup. Strike in Mexico resulted in them shutting down the line for 3 weeks, then making 8000 cars without wheels."
    • SM: "How many??"
    • Me: "8000. That's going to take a while to fix. Could be weeks. Could be months."
    • SM: "Uh, yeah. The regional rep says they should have it 'worked out' by April 5, but that might just be the supply issue."
    • Me: "Yeah. Who knows?"
    • SM: "Well, you said you didn't want it while there was snow on the ground."
    • Me: "Absolutely. April would work for me."

As long as I had him off guard, I got him to agree to get me a hard copy of the brochure to keep along with the car.

That's great. For the most part it's been about the same with my salesman and his manager. I actually do a little research and end up knowing what's going on a step ahead of them. Thanks in large part from what I'm able to read here nonetheless lol.

The 2/14 "In Production" tag with no "Awaiting Shipment" noted means your car was caught up in the 8000 Mustangs produced without steering wheels (as was mine).  That "days to delivery" number is quite questionable.

That's what I was thinking. First it got caught up in the Magneride backorder and now this, I've had some crazy weird luck with this car. Hope we both get to see them delivered soon.

Welcome to the forum!:)  What is the holdup on your Mustang?  My very first Mustang is the one I own now, a 2011 Race Red Premium GT that I ordered in April 2010. I absolutely love this machine!!! I finally broke 20,000 miles on it late last year.  Looking forward to your pics.:peelout:

Originally it was the wait for the Magneride system, then I was given my VIN and a build date of January 16th which my window sticker confirms. Now I think it's held up with the steering wheel situation in Flat Rock. I'm super excited for it to get here as you can imagine. Kona Blue, 10 speed auto, 401a, active exhaust, magneride, B&O sound system, PP1. I have a few aesthetic things that have been sitting in boxes waiting to throw on like hood struts, black badges (cheaper than black out package), black lugs w/ locks, and steeda jacking rails. Nothing that'll void my warranty (hopefully lol) but can still make it look a little more unique for the time being.

Wow, and I thought I'd been waiting a long time. Has the dealer given you any update on the status of your order? Before you know it, we'll be into the next model year. ?

I know right?! So far all my guy can tell me is that it's been built and it's in Michigan but that's about all he's been able to come up with.

  10. I believe my Mustang is held up with the same problem. Doesn't seem like my dealership can get any decent communication going. All they have been able to tell me is that it's been built and I have my window sticker showing that was around January 16th but aside from that nothing. They're trying, my guys at Hub City Ford here in Louisiana have been amazing, but they just can't seem to get any more info.

  11. I'm still pretty new to the forums and I have a bad habit of lurking rather than posting so as not to be redundant or seen as "spammy", so hello officially! These forums have been an incredible resource and I definitely appreciate the feedback I see from the admins and employees who are very generous with their time here. I'm currently waiting on my 2019 Mustang GT Premium that I ordered back in July and words can't express how excited I am to finally be getting back into a mustang. Had my first one back in high school, a purple 1996 V6 and my dad had one for the first few years of my life. Anyway, thank you again to everyone and I can't wait until I can share pictures of my beauty when she arrives!
